Hi all, hope you can help me with this question I have.

My fiance is american and we are trying to find out the following:

1) What is the minimum to make a year?, is it 16K or $20.020? (we have no children, and he does not work in the army, he just have a regular administrative job.

2) besides showing the W2 tax form to show the annual salary, do we need to show the bank statement with money deposited? is there a certain amount that needs to be deposited? and if there is any problem not to have any money showing on the bank.

Thank you for your help!

I think many people will tell you differently. I really think showing what amounts that are deposited into your account are irrelevant if you can show proof as to how much you make annually. With 1040's, W2's, Pay Stubs and Tax Transcripts that should be enough. Now in the event that you don't have a steady income and don't make the minimum wage, will need to show other assets, such as how much you have in the bank or other types of income. The I-134 is used to show that you have the means to support your family financially. If you can show that proof simply with your wages, then that is all you really need to disclose.

Thank you, that is a confusion i have with the Poverty Guidelines for 2016

I see tow files indicating different things online.

One is PDF you show me as:

https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-912p.pdf

and the other one is

https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864p.pdf

form I-912p versus form I864p

Do you know the difference?

Ah, I am very sorry, I did send you the incorrect Guideline. You would use the https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864p.pdf. This is the guideline when filling out I-134 and I-864. The other is a income guideline for fee waiver.

Your fiancé will need to make at the minimum $20,025 annually to meet the 125% Poverty guidelines

Sorry for the misinformation.

You need to prove that you make enough to meet or exceed the 125% poverty guidelines. So if your bank account isn't going to assist you with meeting those requirements, why disclose it? There are many people today that don't have large bank accounts. The purpose of the I-134 is to show that visa applicants have sponsorship and will not become public charges while in the United States.

Thank you for that. I'll get a letter from my boss saying I have a job from him and I'm prototype sure I'll meet those requirements. Why is this process so worrisome, I really hope I don't get denied

IT'S only worrisome because you make it worrisome. Just relax. Read the instructions carefully and when in doubt ask here on VJ. Lot's of experience here and friendly.
