Wait for NVC's date OR go on Visa App website & choose own date

Hi everyone. I would like some opinion on this dilemma that I have. Any help will be appreciated!

Our case is now on its way from NVC to the Consulate in Manila. When I went to CEAC's page, it said that "Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center". I took a screenshot of this statement because, 1st question, Will St Luke's accept the picture containing the case number (but without our names) say we want to get a headstart on the medical exam?

Now if it will be accepted, my 2nd question is, Should I then go to the Visa Application website, and just choose our own interview date? This way I can print something showing that we already have an interview date, and therefore, be able to headstart her Medical Exam. This prevents us from having to wait for the initial appointment letter from NVC.

Or should we just chill and wait until we get the confirmation letter from the Consulate? And just wait until then before doing the medical exam. I just don't know if its good that I continue to have a headstart or just stick with their timeline and wait around...

It's just we have already gathered everything that the Consulate will probably ask from us. So I kinda wonder if waiting for the actual letter matters at this point when we have already anticipated their requirements. Feel free to tell me if I am jumping the gun too much. :dancing:

1st: You schedule your own interview date, as a K-1 visa NVC does not do this. I will include a link at the bottom for what you need to be doing.

2nd: As for printing out a copy of the CEAC webpage for SLEC, some have done that. St. Luke's asks for a copy of the interview confirmation page and/or your NVC letter with your MNL# on it.

3: You wait for NOTHING from the embassy... many NEVER get any letters from the embassy, some get an email.. eventually. You have your MNL# .. it is ROCK n ROLL time!!!

That's right! I did what Philippines Sagot said though I emailed NVC and ask if we'll receive any letter from them and They told me The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the immigrant visa petition: MNLxxxxx filed by A on behalf of Q. The NVC completed its processing of this visa petition, and forwarded it to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in MANILA PHILIPPINES.

We forwarded your immigrant visa petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate on 04-NOV-2016.

And they also stated the Case Number:

Petitioner's Name:

Principal Applicant's Name:

Preference Category: K1

Your Priority Date: 09Sep2016

Foreign State Chargeability:

That's what I'm going to print for the medical. My interview will be on November 28 :)

I still have not received our email and when I checked they said it's already on its way. We have already scheduled her interview for 12/8/16 and need to get the medical exam done soon.

You should try to email them :) Put your MNL case number on the subject line. I used NVCResearch@state.gov when I emailed them

No need to email NVC to complete your medical. You don't need the NOA2 to complete the visa or medical processing. Do make sure you get your NOA2 from NVC though as you will need it later when completing AOS after you are married.

Some have used the CEAC print out for SLEC. According to USEM you need EITHER a copy of the letter from NVC with your case number on it OR a copy of your interview confirmation page to complete the medical at SLEC. Also you will need the confirmation page of the DS160 on the second day at SLEC.

You DO NOT need to have the NVC letter/email for your medical. You need copies of your interview confirmation page OR the NVC letter, not both.
