I ask because neither mine, or my fiance's phone company is willing to provide us with detailed phone bills.

I have some emails, itineraries from our visits, some hand written notes he's given me... and a boat load of pictures. But I think the phone records would be the best way to show them that we are legit and our relationship has been ongoing. We talk to each other 2-5+ times on the phone each day. But I have no way of proving this. Virgin says it's a against a privacy law to release the details, and my phone company in Canada just doesn't have it available... the only way to see which numbers I've called and vice versa is to login online and hover over each item with my mouse. I have no way of printing it out, and called and even tried getting in touch with their head office and they can't help me.

Another concern... I just noticed in my letter that it says I am not allowed to bring a backpack/luggage or large purse into the US consulate. Well I am traveling from out of town and I'll be checking out of my room prior to the interview. I have a backpack. What the heck am I supposed to do with it? Are there lockers somewhere? This is in Montreal by the way. Interview is on Wednesday. Oh god I'm nervous!

Near every embassy there should be lockers somewhere around. I would also recommend to bring boarding passes attached to your itineraries if you have them saved. Commingling would be a good proof. If your fiancee paid for the trips, print out the bank statements or receipts if you were sent money, saved receipts from purchased gifts or other goods could work too. You can also set up a joint bank account.

OP, just take the evidence you do have. That's all you can do right? Canada is not a high fraud, difficult country.

In the USA, the hotel will keep your bag for you after check out. We've done this several times when we had later afternoon or evening flights. Ask at your hotel front desk.

In JA, local businesses near the embassy will keep valuables for a fee. Maybe these are possibilities in Montreal.

Can't say anything about the Montreal premises, but check with your hotel/ accommodation place to se if they'd hold your bag while you're at the interview.

I already sent proof so uscis would approve your petition, you can have everything you sent plus proof of on going communication since filing to your interview. Having what you already sent is just for piece of mind, in case they misplaced anything. They may not even ask for anything, but it's always best to be prepared

Good luck

Edit: please do not bring and hand anything money related, in this case it can be seen as more harming than beneficial

Thanks everyone, i'll check with the hotel. it's just a small backpack with one change of clothes so hopefully it won't be an issue.

I am bringing everything that was submitted with my i-129f plus some more stuff from this summer. didn't keep any plane tickets unfortunately but i am confident that i can answer any of their questions and they should be able to tell just by talking to me that we are the real deal!!

I'm terrified but my gut tells me that everything will work out. I just can't afford any holdups.

OOOPs just noticed it was the wrong embassy. Most embassys have some method of lockers or a 3rd party that does.

You can check the reviews from the consulate to see if anyone else had been asked to provide relationship evidence.

UK is another low fraud country and my fiancé didn't bring anything of the sort to his interview nor was he asked to provide anything.

Check your backpack at your hotel. All of them offer this service. Dont worry about too much evidence, I cant rememeber the last time anyone was asked for any at Montreal. Have your updated letters of intent, your I-134 plus evidence plus the normal stuff. Youll be fine. I promise it's not as stressful as you feel it is. Have a hot bath and relax. :)

If you have an iPhone, and have not reset your device in a long time, you can download and demo a third party software called iExplorer to export call logs, text messages, etc. If you have an Android, there may be other programs that can do the same thing.

I used this program for my K1 Visa and printed collated pages of our texts and call history. You save a lot of paper doing 4 boxes per page, front and back.

We use the program for litigation purposes in my company so I can vouch for its effectiveness. Hope that helps.

Wow... that's something I never thought of. I use a cheap flip phone with no data lol. But I will see if my fiance is able to do that.

May not be needed, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Thank you very much!! :)

Odd, 5 years ago when I applied for my husband's CR1 I went right on T-Mobile.com and got all of my detailed statements then I did it again 2 years ago when we removed conditions. What is preventing you from going online and printing out your statements? Mine show each call with the phone number and duration of the calls and it shows each and every text with time stamp.

Hi there fellow Canadian! I'll respond to just the topic title.

It's 100% entirely up to the officer who's interviewing you. I had evidence of our relationship in a small ringed binder along with all my other documentation (maybe about 7-8 printouts of photographs only, I didn't bring any text logs, call logs, or e-mail logs or anything like that, my fiance didn't want me to), and they didn't even care to look at it. In fact, they only asked me one question aside from the usual required questions and that was "Why don't you tell me about the two of you?". That was it. No proof of our relationship was shown at all. During the initial I-129F filing we only sent in some photographs of us together as well and that satisfied them enough to approve the petition so if anything they barely had any evidence we were together at all.

Since you're going to the same consulate that I had my interview at, I recommend you read the review of the interview on my timeline.

As for your backpack, just check it in at your hotel or leave it in your room. You can bring your phone with you, you'll just need to surrender it to the officers before you move forward, but they'll give it back to you afterwards and give you a ticket that you can use to reclaim it.

This for us as well.

My husband left his stuff at his hotel, he was back in plenty of time to get it.

My husband had went with pictures, skype logs showing when we started video convos and how long they lasted. Our first facebook convo, a convo from the next year, and the next year, to the year of the interview showing constant communication. But the interviewer just asked him how did we meet, and it all went from there. They didn't ask for any of the relationship proof. We also front loaded out I-129F with pictures and relationship proof.

Overall, Montreal's a pretty easy consulate.
