Hello I have a few questions...please excuse me if they're stupid questions  ...in any case, I will appreciaite your help. My husbands I-129F and 1-130 petitions FINALLY got approved :lol: at the same time after a LONG 7 months period. He recently got an interview date of May 15th at Islamabad...I guess what I really want from you guys is to know what is to be expected next. I have not received any paperwork in the mail from the ISL embassy nor have I received anything from the Embassy on what to do next....What should I, the petitioner be expecting at this time. And I know that my husband will be required to fill out packet 3...but what paperwork does packet three consist of...

Also if my husband needs the "FBI Clearance" (which I pray to God he will not need), that means he will not be issued a Visa until he is cleared, correct??? That means another L O N G wait most likely :(:o .....

Also, when will I be required to file an Affadavit of support? Since my I-129F and I-130 got approved a the same time, does that mean I can apply for a CR-1 visa, even though the I-129F is the one that the interview is for?? I am sorry if I don't make sense...but everything is a blurr to me at this time and I would really appreciate your help!!!!!

Thank you!

for what forms and such that your husband will receive in P3, check out the Embassy Info link at the top of the page. I'm sure there's something there for Islamabad.

The Cr1 visa will be a way off yet. You'll be receiving forms and stuff from the NVC for that, including the I-864 affidavit of support fee.

At this point it really is a choice for you. Do you wish to pursue both the K3 and the CR1 at the same time, and see which completes first? Or would you rather save a couple hundred dollars and forget about the K3 and just continue with the CR1?

Up to you...

Your K3 case will be forwarded to NVC (National Visa Center) for brief processing including an FBI name check and then forwarded to Islamabad. ISL will send your husband packet 3 to fill out and return. I take it he's already done this because he has an interview date.

You should have a separate case number for the CR or IR1 case. For which visa is he interviewing, May 15? Where is the I-130 case file at present?

Thank you for replying!

The confusion, I think has cleared a bit...I'm understanding this process better now. Thanks for your help.

My husband recently received his packet 3 and has filled it out; he will take packet three to the interview with him. That is what ISL Embassy told him to do? Is this routine?

I guess, i will proceed with the K-3 visa route, as it appears to be moving along faster. He will be interviewing for the K-3 visa and the NVC still has not received the I-130 forms.

I've heard packet 4 being mentioned a few times...what is packet 4?

Thanks so much for your help again :).

If he has an interview date, I would think he returned whatever he was instructed (if anything) to return from Packet 3 before the interview date was set. I'm not specifically familiar with the Islamabad procedures. Maybe somebody can point you to direct information on that.
