Good Day Everyone,

My husband and I need some advice. We already received our NVC case number about 2 weeks ago. We've been waiting till I get a packet with more information, but nothing has come on the mail yet. I'm in Canada, so I'm not sure why it's taking so long. Should we continue waiting or should we go ahead and fill out the online Choosing and Agent form and pay the fees? Should we call the NVC office?

NVC's communication is somewhat sub-par. My wife *just* got her welcome letter in the mail but we got it via email on 9/21. Now, the mail from the US to the Philippines is notoriously slow (ironically faster going the other way) but that's still about 2-3 weeks longer than my mail takes to get to her.

NVC has also indicated to me over the phone that they've been having issues with even emails not going out in a timely fashion, sometimes generating days after the actual action.

If you've got your case number, go ahead and do whatever you are able to (i.e. is unlocked) online, don't wait for the mail to come in. As long as you have the case number, you don't really need the welcome packet, imo.

No need to call NVC. Have you logged into the ceac.state.gov to assign your agent pay your fee.

Man you could gave been done by now because Canada has Electronic processing.

Here's the NVC Process Wiki please read.
