how to organize documents for AOS interview (merged threads)

hi yall,

hey i am just curious how anybody/everybody organized their documents for the green card interview. whether you used a accordion file or ring binder or what ever you used... and how you organized for example the accordion file with labels.....i got my interview coming up in December and i want to make sure i got my docs in order. so if anybody could tell me how they organized their docs... i would appreciate it a lot....

i took them all in a cheap walmart attache.i had them all in Manilla envelopes with of course had put some headings or titles on each one them. turned out to be all waste. we were in and out in 10 minutes. FYI, we were interviewed by a female and there was a student sitting behind her (i believe they both studied my and my wife's case together). they were more concentrated on me(beneficiary), my body language and other things. Good luck to you. take the docs however you are comfortable with. they are nice.

It does not really matter, other than you should have them organized so that if asked for something, you can easily find the documentation to provide the IO.

We personally used a folder with several different pockets and placed like items together, such as originals and extra copy of important documents already provided, copy of entire AOS submission with I-864 and financial documents in separate pocket, proof of bona fide marriage/relationship, and proof of co-mingling finances and co-habitation. Separating them makes it easier and faster to get to and find what you need. We also took our wedding photo album. Our IO asked for nothing and looked at nothing we brought with us. Better to have it and not need it though, rather not have it and need it.

hello

i am trying to organize my documents for my interview and need some help.

I have an accordion file and need to label my fiels.

I think your other thread someone told you the order doesn't matter as long as you can locate them.

That they grouped them in certain catogories for easier access.

Just make sure you have all of the originals and marriage evidence. It doesn't really matter how you arrange or organize them just so long as you have them with you if asked. I've just been keeping everything in a small box.
