Scheduling interview "case not ready"

Ok...I'm driving myself mad here. It's known that there's an issue with scheduling interviews, it'll say that the case number isn't ready. As per advice in a forum here I emailed the embassy, but haven't heard anything yet. Now, that was only Friday night, the same day we received the letter with the case number in it and not long after I submitted the readiness form.

Will we receive an email from the embassy saying it was fixed? Should I email the address listed in the error? Better yet, is there a number I can call? Am I doing something wrong?

I'm not working so this is kinda my obsession. Well, that and keeping the house tidy, but that's done lol

There is always a few days between when NVC assigns your number and when the system allows you to schedule your interview. Usually it's a day or so after your status changes to "in transit" on ceac.state.gov. Have you checked the status there?

*ETA just saw you are CR1, not sure how it differs from K1. My comment above was as per my experience with K1.

The embassy doesn't take calls from immigrant visa applicants, only non-immigrant. Why, I do not know. The only way you can contact them is by email. It's crazy. I was speaking to another VJer who was struggling to schedule his interview at the London embassy and his emails to them were not replied to.

I'll have a hunt to find the conversation if I can and see what the outcome was because he did tell me how he managed to do it in the end.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Awe, thank you for your help anyway. It is a different process for us, but good info. I did check our status and it said "ready" when we received the letter.

*** update, I emailed the address in the error message. While I didn't hear back from either them nor the embassy, I was able to schedule the interview for January 3rd - though I'll be checking back in hopes an earlier one opens up ? so I'm not sure if they fix it and just don't tell you or what, but it's done now

I found the conversation I had in my messages and he said it was you that had helped him with the slideshow. I had a look at the slideshows and they are very helpful. Don't know who put them together but they are a great idea.

Hope you manage to get an earlier appointment! Mine is 4 weeks today.

I did? Lol

I think that the embassy out them together. Going over the time enable and all with my hubby, I think we will likely be sticking with that date.

Yours is getting so close!! Upon approval, when do you think you'll book and head over? I'm thinking we shouldn't book until his passport is back in hand but it's that whole wanting to get it done thing.

Oh I'm going as soon as I possibly can. I haven't seen my husband since June and even that was just for 4 days.

I'm intending to fly on 19 December. Would like to go sooner but not sure about the passport situation and also can't get a lift to the airport any sooner.
