I was really surprised to receive a letter from USCIS yesterday stating that my permanent residency interview will take place on May 21st. I originally sent off my AOS package on February 18th only to receive an RFE letter on March 15th. After sending in my missing documents (the next day) I was expecting to wait much longer for my interview. In my original AOS package I also applied for EAD and AP although I haven't received approval for either yet.

Anyway, is it just me, or is the interview unusually soon? Maybe it just seems soon...

6/7/03: We got married!

8/25/03: Phoned border guards & asked if J could escort me back to IA, yes.
8/26/03: Arrive in IA
8/27/03: Went to USCIS local office to ask if J could stay in the US and file papers, yes
2004: I-130 approved!
6/05: Filed AOS/EAD
7/2/05: Rec'd receipt for I-485
8/05: Rec'd RFE for Biometrics
9/9/05: Rec'd RFE for medical
12/2/06: EAD APPROVED!
12/5/06: EAD card rec'd
1/15/06: AOS interview date for 4/11/06 at 11:00 a.m.
4/11/06: APPROVED!!!!!! NO MORE USCIS FOR 10 YEARS!!! WOOHOO!!! 2016...seems more like a page # than a year. Haha.

They are speeding things along. I got my NOA1 on Feb. 2 and was interviewed on March 22! Sometime it is not a good thing when it is that quick because many times namechecks are completed by the the time the interview comes around, but at least one thing is out of the way!

US Entry : 2006-11-27

Marriage : 2006-12

AOS : Submitted on 1-29-07

NOA1: 2-5-07

BIOMETRICS: 2-21-07

AOS Interview: Decision Pending :( FBI Name Check not completed

Email welcoming New Resident on 5/22/07.

Approval Notice email: 5/31/2007

CARD IN HAND 6/01/2007

Removal of Conditions now in progress

Mailed: 3-4-09

USCIS received: 3-6-09

NOA1: 3-9-09

Biometrics: letter arrived 3-18-09, scheduled 3-28-09

Approved on: 05-04-2009

Approval letter arrives: 05-09-09

Good luck at your interview, even by that time you should have some pretty solid evidence!

September 27/06 Interview APPROVED, with visa in hand

Our AOS interview was about that quick, too...but without a RFE. And we didn't get stuck in namechecks, fortunately.

Thats awesome! I hope we get transferred to CSC and dont have to have an interview, but if we have to have one I hope we get it sooner rather than later also. :)
