Hello,

I'm getting closer and closer to possibly having my interview booked and so the questions are starting to raise in my head. I hope you can help me with some answers.

1- How is the interview date scheduled? do they call/send mail with the exact date and time we need to show up or do we have a choice?

2- Is it possible to change the date, if it's pre set, in case I was not in the country? as I'm planning a 3 weeks trip to see family.

3- What happens if I can not attend the interview for not being in the country?

4- How much in advance am I notified with the interview date?

5- Is there any fees to be paid for the interview? if so, how much is it?

6- Is the interview likely to be held in the same office I had the biometrics in?

Thank you very much in advance. I appreciate the help. :)

1- they will set a date for your interview and let you know the details by mail. The online status will probably change and you'll be able to see just the date there

2- you can contact them to change the date, there are instructions on the interview letter you'll receive

3- if you don't attend the interview and don't contact them in a timely manner and have it set to be rescheduled they can assume you abandoned your aos

4- about a month in advance

5- no fees

6- it will be on the field office responsible for your address. You can check where on uscis website. Mine was in a different place from the biometrics one

I personally would not reschedule my interview, as I'd need to go back to line and another date could take quite a long time to be set. I'd want to get my permanent residency resolved before anything else, but to each their own.

Good luck

Thank you for your response. Of course I have a priority to do the interview first but that could be anywhere from one month later to several long months to be scheduled. I'm still undecided whether I'll travel or not.
