Follow up question to my job change during the i130 for alien relative filing.

Recap- early 2018 is PD, had this job months before filing to current. It is a soul crushing one.

Previous answer- "You are allowed to change jobs but it is recommended I keep the current one"

New questions

1.What if I move my current full time job to part time and pick up another job but still keeping the old one?

2. What if I got a job offer 4 hours away from my home and I want to move to new job because they pay significantly more so will just have that job only?

Is it recommended to still not move and keep lower paying job? Thank you for any follow up detailed answers, I really dislike current job and don't pay well and I have offers for new ones already.

Misinformation is very BAD for this whole immigration process. It's not USCIS or immigration concern if you are working or not...or better still switch between jobs or even when it comes to changing addresses/location. It won't bring any delay or problem to your case. I know alot of people who switched between jobs, change addresses numerous times while waiting for their partners petition to be approved or visa issued and yet they completed the process without any question asked about WHY change your address or jobs. You just need to update USCIS or NVC anytime your address changes. As for your job, even if you lost it or can't meet the average poverty guideline,...a friend or relative can still co-sponsor your case.

Don't miss out on any opportunity to upgrade or get a better job...it won't affect your case in anyway.

Some people even lost their job along the way and still manage to get a sponsor(relative or friend).

Thank you so much, this is the most helpful and detailed answer so far. I really am thankful for your input and experience.

I’m sorry to say that the California service center is very slow. The average wait time for approvals 20 months. Personally, I waited 22 months for case approval (without Any request for evidence). Recently, they have started transferring cases to the other centers because they are so backed up. So I hope the same happens to you, because that’s the only way the process gets a little sped up.

Your wait has just begun. Realistically, if your case is not transferred (as others have suggested that they are transferring some cases), you are likely not expected to receive an approval for another 19 to 22 months (i.e., between Nov 2020 to Feb 2021).

My case got transferred to POTOmac in June from here. My PD is end of Jan 2018. Any estimated further wait guesses? :D.

If you were to check the "USCIS Case Processing Times" site (located here: https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/) you'd see it says cases are adjudicated between "6.5 Months to 8.5 Months". While I don't think we can know with any certainty, if they were to treat your recently transferred case as if the transferred date (assuming its Aug 2019) = priority date (Aug 2019), we can probably assume that, for instance your case got transferred Aug 9, 2019, this would put your estimate at Feb 2020 to April 2020 (based on their site). However, based on anecdotal observations from petitioners here, I'd say you'd more than likely to get a decision by (or before) the end of this year.
