It saddens my heart to read post like this....We are all in the same boat; my PD is June 02, 2017 and still not approved or Deny or RFE. I'm not sure what's going on at the USCIS office but most cases with PD's June 01 through June 10 are still not approved regardless of country status though I'm pretty sure country/region also has a role to play in approvals.

Whereas late June through August 2017 PD's are getting approvals daily. I believe the persons handling this time frame(June 01 to 09) is either slow or is on vacation or what do I even know!...LOL...nothing but...Just speculations!

Pathetic situation for us all.

Lacesamson,

Guess what?

I went to sleep right after posting that on Friday night. Or maybe it was early Saturday. I also checked my case status on both the USCIS website, as well as the DHS website. And the status was still stuck on Received.

After I woke up this morning, at around 7:20am, I had received a text message along with an email from USCIS that said "We have updated your case."

With my heart thumping against my chest, I quickly logged into the USCIS site to check the case status, and my heart sank when I saw that it was still unchanged.

Then I immediately logged into the DHS site, and checked the status there.

Guess what?

My case status had changed to "Approved".

On a Saturday morning 😳

If this wasn't a miracle, please tell me what is :P

I hope and pray that your case status changes today, tomorrow, or Monday at the latest so that you can enjoy some peace of mind as well.

This prolonged stress and anxiety literally makes us forget how to stay happy and enjoy life at all.

And lol, this whole thing about the person who was handling our cases being on a vacation or being super slow, lol lol, I swear I said that EXACT same thing to my wife 2 days ago!!!!!!!

Well, first of all congratulations on the acceptance of a case, which seems to me like it was . As of I-485 receipt - yes , I think you also should have a receipt for that . May be will arrive later ? There must be a case number .

Hi there again,

Apparently after few evidence replies and all I gave my biometrics and now the case is ready to be scheduled for interview. Which I believe will take a long time. But my EAD looks like won't be approved before current one expires. I'm planning to put in an expedite request. Do you know of any approved expedite experiences? It's kind of frustrating that applying for a new card almost 5 months before expiration doesn't seem to be enough.

Thank you for all the help. :)

Your current EAD is under different category, right ? Opt ? Have you applied for its extension?

Yes, but you also have EAD now, right ? I was thinking may be you applied for the current EAD extension as well , which would give you another 180 days of using it while waiting for AOS EAD . (I had 2 different EADs at the same time , and using AOS EAD as a primary now).As of expedite experience - I don’t know anyone personally who’ve done that , but I know people do . You’d have to have a letter well explaining the reasons why you need to expedite, loosing your job would be a good enough reason for sure , but I don’t know what exactly (which documents) you have to accomplish your expedite request with .

I thought we cannot apply for 2 EADs at the same time. That is the reason I did not apply for my opt extension. Is it okay to file extension now even if my aos ead is pending?

Well, you can not use old OPT EAd when receive AOS one for sure. Not 100% sure about applying for OPT extension at this point , but why not to try ? Just thinking out loud. IF they accept it - you’ll have your receipt which gives you extra 180 days to your expired opt EAD to use . If they reject accepting it - well, nothing to loose, just wait for AOS EAD then (and try to expedite)

Exactly what I was thinking of. I see recently the final dates of action date is jumping months whereas the dates of filing is barely jumping weeks.

Last time the dates for filing had a major change was back in June or July when it moved 3 months.

Does anyone explain this further or has an insight when the dates of filing might have a major change?

Filing date in the latest visa bulletin moved up and it is a significant change. It was on Jan 2018 on May 2019 visa bulletin and in the visa bulletin published yesterday for June 2019,the filing date for F2A category jumped to March 2019.
