I just thought of something, I switched my jobs since I applied for my citizenship. Anything I need to do about that before my interview in 10 days?

Question for other Canadians.

My interview is coming up! Woo hoo! I am gathering a large file of whatever documents I think might be asked for. I wonder if anyone has had experience with explaining dates for travel by land outside the US? We live quite close to the Canadian border and my family is all up there, so I have traveled numerous times by car and don't necessarily have "proof" of the dates.

Was anyone in a similar situation given a hard time for not having proof of the dates of travel?

All done. Naturalized this afternoon under the Space Needle along with 560 others. Took my oath, collected my certificate, registered to vote. Working on my passport application right now.

I believe the only thing left now is to wait 10 days then head to the social security office and update my status with them.

 

So yeah, I'm now an Anglo-American.

Congratulations to the others who naturalized today. Thanks to everyone else on Visa Journey, this has been an invaluable resource from the moment my wife and I started dating, through the K1 process, AoS, and now rampant flag waving and hot dog eating.

We received our Oath letter on July 3rd. The oath ceremony will take place July 12th at 8am at the local Atlanta Office. Woo hoooo!

I had my interview this morning at 7:15 and I was approved. Will update with details shortly. A little disappointed that with having such an early interview time that a same day oath ceremony wasn't an option.

Dallas Peeps any updates ? No Interview letter for me. Been 8 months now and stuck in FP status. However, Took info pass this morning, lady told me i am passed all the checks and just waiting for an interview slot. My file is still at NBC though. But she said Dallas office will request November filers files from NBC soon, and i should be one of them. Not sure how much truth is in her statements. But gives me some hope, that i am not lost in their system.

 

There were around 200 people for oath today, and was told that more than 28000 applications are pending at Dallas office and only handful of officers are available to adjudicate them. People at oath filed a year ago.

So for some more detailed information regarding my Interview:

 

I arrived at the Atlanta field office at 6:50am for my 7:15 appointment, went through security and waited in line until the reception opened at 7. I was checked in and asked to go upstairs to the second floor. There I went to another window and was given a ticket number around 7:10am and told to sit down till my number was called. At 7:18 I was called over to door 1 and met the officer that was conducting my interview,  she was very professional and friendly.

 

I was sworn in and sat down, she asked for my drivers licence, PR Card and all of my passports. She only ever needed my DL and PR Card and didn't look at any of the other documentation I had taken. We made some small talk, my picture and index fingerprints were taken and then she went through my N400 form to confirm everything was correct.

 

She then handed me a piece of paper to read - "Who was the first President" and then she asked me to write "Washington was the first President". 

 

I was asked six questions, they were: 

 

The House of Representatives has how many voting members?

In What month do we vote for President?

We elect a U.S. Representative for how many years?

Who is the Chief Justice of the United States now?

Who is the "Father of Our Country"?

Name one war fought by the United States in the 1900s

 

She then told me I had answered all 6 correctly, sorted some more paperwork, asked me to check information on a sheet of paper and initial it. She stapled the photos I had sent with the N400 to the sheet of paper and told me she was recommending me for approval. I was told it would take a while but I'd get an oath letter in the mail if everything passed QC. I was then shown out around 7:45.

 

If I had time to think I would have asked if a same day oath was possible, but hindsight's a wonderful thing.

 

Just have to wait some more.

That's a great update, nathyn! So happy things went smoothly and quick for you too. Our oath letter for the July 12th swearing in, took two weeks to the day to arrive in the mail (and we received the e-mail notifying us that the letter was on the way 9 days after the interview). Who knows they may try to get you in for the July 12th ceremony. Wishing you all the best!

Same position here from Houston January 2017 i am in line waiting for interview date. Case number before me & after finalized still some already take Oath. i dont know we  are still on hold. this is not fear at all
