Oh good for you! I always love hear about people's stories and reasons behind getting citizenship, so its nice to know we're both in the same boat on the career front. I totally agree with you - I'm currently keeping myself busy getting certain certifications that I think I will improve my chances, but as of right now I too am holding off on applying for jobs. You're totally right, given the current processing times I think April/May is definitely a realistic timeline. As they say, patience is a virtue! I've been a member of VJ since 2011 (wow!) and I honestly don't know what I would have done without all the people and their advice. I appreciate you sharing your support :) We're all in this together and one day (very soon!) we'll finally be able to leave USCIS behind.

Naturalization Journey (Based on 5 years as a PR):

November 21st 2016 - Sent N-400 to Dallas Lockbox.

November 30th - Check Cashed.

December 1st - Email/Text Notifications.

December 8th - Hardcopy of NOA received (Priority Date 11/25).

December 9th - Biometrics Appointment Letter received.

December 19th - Biometrics Appointment.

January 4th 2017 - "In Line" for Interview.

June 9th - Online status changed to "Interview was Scheduled".

June 12th - Interview Letter received.

July 19th - Interview (NYC). Requested a "delayed Oath" for after September 4th 2017.

September 11th - Oath Letter received. Honored my request for a delayed Oath Ceremony. 

September 14th - Oath Ceremony.

Immigrant fee paid on ELIS - Jan 24th

POE - Jan 25th

Update on GC and SSN

(as of March 14th, 2014)

ELIS status - Closed (Card produced)

USCIS case check with receipt number (starts with IOE) - Card delivered in the mail

SSN - Received (Went to SSA location to apply for one)
