Hi, im an indian residing in uae.my case (f4) with priority date 11dec2002 got completed in the last week of october 2016..currently waiting for interview in US embassy abudhabi.

Unfortunately my residence permit in uae is getting expired by the end of december. Since we are in the final stage of visa processing, I do not want to change my address and delay my interview.

So if an interview is scheduled on january I will have to come back to uae on a visit visa.

Is it mandatory to have a permanent residence in the country where your visa interview will take place? or is it ok to be in that country with a visit visa and attend the interview.

hi

nope you can't do that, you have to be legally residing in the country to have your interview there

you will need to change address and embassy

do it as soon as possible so they can send your file to the new consulate/embassy

Aleful is correct, as always; you can only interview in a country you legally reside in.
