B1/B2 Visa with APPROVED EAD/AP traveling with USC husband

Okay I have a quick question...

If I travel with my us citizen spouse do we have to be separated when returning to the US.

A little background, I have a visitors visa. Traveled a few times on it since 2012. When I returned in February 2016 I was admitted and the stamp expired in August 2016. My husband was tired of the back and forth and demanded we got married, and I loved it, so ofcourse I married my best friend in June. Late July we sent off the Adjustment of Status Packet. We just received the approval a few weeks ago. On the approval letter it mentions it is not a guarantee that I am admitted back in the country. So naturally both my husband and I are scared. I want us to travel to my home country for the new years, just for one night. Any experience with using the Advance Parole?

Would we have to return in separate lines? Can I travel with my husband in the USC line or can he wait with me in the Visitor's line?

if he was approved for the aos then he should get a green card in the mail soon. just have that and his passport and you should be fine.

the only people guaranteed entry are us citizens so everyone else always has the possibility of being turned away even people who have haf their green card for many years.

Just read the previous post of hers... AOS is pending, approved for EAD and the Advance of parole is still in AP

And it's HER doing the processing of the AOS not her husband... you were referring to him as the potential green card holder...

If the Advance of Parole is approved you will be able to get back into the U.S. Obviously there is never a 100% guarantee that the officer at the POE is going to let you into the country but he generally would need a reason to deny you entry. If there's nothing wrong with your case you shouldn't have to worry about it.

Which line you go isn't a big deal, as long as one person qualifies. So you can both go in the US Citizens line if your husband's a citizen.

Personally, to be safe, I would wait for the green card unless it was an emergency, but to each his own.

Some airports have passport scanners for USC, then you can't go in that line. Otherwise, you should ask if you can stay together. I've had mixed results depending on the airport.

I agree, ask at the airport. There is always someone "directing" traffic, and they will know how customs operates at that airport.

You both will not be separated. My husband, the baby and I were told by an officer to join the visitor's line, which we did. He scanned their US pp, 10 printed me then sent us three to secondary. Spent about 30 mins. Officer only asked if it was my first time travelling on ap, I said yes then she paroled me in for 1 year and we were on our way out of the airport. Officer basically welcomed me home. I was sceptical about travelling after reading the paper that came with the ead/ap but it was a very easy process and I would encourage anyone who wants to travel to go.

My airport was FLL,just in case you were wondering.
