never seen any sort of timeline, except for the health of mother/baby, ban after 20 weeks..yall are just all over the place. and this is how it's easy to spot that no research has been done. obvious.

This is part of the problem. These is no clear timeline. There is the 1st trimester 'milestone', but if you consider a fetus a human being at any point, then killing it because it was conceived through rape or incest would be 1st degree murder, plain and simple, whether you're a man or a woman.

But objectively determining "personhood" or when "humanity" begins isn't as simple as "xx weeks", especially because science hasn't been able to actually figure out exactly what consciousness is yet - Which is part of what makes abortion such a messy legal and ethical issue.

I have long been against capital punishment. I think its uselessness has been proven, and I don't believe in a sentence being revenge, rather, it should remain what it was always meant to be - a way to keep dangerous people off the street, and a deterrent for others. It has been shown killing people does not deter others from committing crimes. States with capital punishment usually have a higher crime rate than states without. But anyway this is not what this discussion is about...my point is you just gotta be consistent, you're either against taking a life or you're for it, but some people wanna have it both ways. At least those who are in favor of the death penalty and against abortions want criminals killed, not babies.

Congress tried to pass a law with a ban after 20 weeks not that long ago...it did not happen because of democrats. I think whatever the circumstances may be, 20 weeks should be a long enough time to make a decision.

I wish the issue of abortion was discussed more reasonably like this. At this point, it seems like you're either a baby killer or a misogynist for even suggesting there is a legitimate debate to be had.

Millefleur, I was going to comment on the baby Hitler conundrum, but I kept going around in circles, hypotheticals and useless this and thats so I decided against it lol.

You and me both. Yet, so many liberals have no issue with it. Re-the dems in congress. Perplexing to say the least. For the life of me(pun intended), I don't get it.

I have "no problem" with it because I realize my personal morals should not be what dictates something that's an extremely difficult and personal choice.
