Hi everyone,

I am just wanting to confirm i have done things right and i am not missing anything so anyone who can confirm i have or tell me i am missing something would be great!

We filed the petition and got the letter to say it had been received. we then received another letter confirming it had been approved and was being sent to London.

As the beneficiary i then received a letter stating they had received our petition at London and to follow the steps to move forward with this process.

I then completed the following steps (not necessarily in this order)

  • Completed the DS-160 (now have the page with barcode and photograph on it)
  • Submitted the readiness form
  • paid the visa fee of just over £220
  • paid the £18 courier fee
  • booked the medical (for the 14th November 2016)
  • scheduled my interview (for the 8th December 2016)

So my medical and interview is booked. I have read so many people saying to take different things to the interview and some of these things i have never heard of. (could have been in the original petition and i am just not aware of the numbers and codes)

I believe i have all the documents that i need for my medical even though there is more requested on the email from knightsbridge then what is on the websites a lot of the time

For my medical i have:

  1. Passport
  2. Police certificate & copy
  3. Vaccine records & copy
  4. Medical questionnaire & copy
  5. Letter from embassy (with visa category on it) & copy
  6. Medical history summary from GP & copy
  7. 4 x US sized photographs

I believe this is everything i need for this... Can anyone see i have missed something?

For my visa interview at US embassy in London i have the following documents:

  1. Appointment letter (received via email when booked)
  2. Passport & copy
  3. DS-160 (the one with your picture and barcode on it)
  4. Payment of visa confirmation (this is just a single sheet that has success on the top and my card details, the amount paid, a long reference number, a long PIN no. and transaction date)
  5. Birth certificate & copy
  6. 4 x US sized photographs (I am aware they only want 1 or two but i have just put them as i have them)
  7. Police certificate & copy
  8. Affidavit of support I-134 & copy
  9. Proof of employment, payslips, bank statements and tax return & copies (She didn't earn enough of her last tax return so may not need everything i have in normal circumstances but wanted proof of current income)
  10. Original I-129F packet (copy)
  11. New letter of intent from petitioner & copy (just in case it is needed even though it is in date at time of interview)
  12. around 12 photographs of us together from first meeting to most recent with all months and location on back (one with our families together)
  13. Bank statement where i purchased her engagement ring (I was a fool and lost the receipt but her wedding band is her grandmothers so wont have a receipt for that either when it comes to AOS)
  14. phone log (we use Whatsapp and Facebook for video and voice calls but these only go back so far and show very little information)

We do not use a normal phone call to communicate (we use Whatsapp or Facebook, sometimes Skype) as we are trying to keep costs down so we can save as much money for our new life as possible, The only letters we have are from when we first got into a relationship (both of our hours changed at work which made it almost impossible for us to get to the post office in time to mail them) we also don't actually send messages that often either as every opportunity we get to talk we either voice or video call. We also use snap chat a lot so obviously i cannot prove that we use that as communication, but we do as we like to see each other as much as possible.

I will be adding the following to the interview packet:

  1. More call logs through to the date of the interview
  2. Boarding passes and itineraries from travelling
  3. 2 more most recent photographs of us together
  4. screenshot of Facebook announcement of engagement

Can anyone think of any form that i have missed or things that i would need to prove our relationship?

I read one earlier about documents she took and i have not heard of half of them.

I really do not want to get there and them say where is this and it not have been on the list of required documents (governments website) as on there it doesn't even mention proof of relationship

Thanks for taking the time to read my post and thank you in advance for you help

You need to bring confirmation that you've booked the courier service to the interview; that's the only thing I think you're missing.

In terms of things you don't need, you don't need your full medical history from the GP for your medical, unless you have a specific illness that you need to declare to the doctor - the questionnaire covers the main points and the doctor will have a brief chat about your medical history. The only thing they need to see is vaccination records.

If your DS-160 has a photo on it already, I don't think you need more photos - someone else might be able to confirm this.

Don't need to take a copy of the I-129f petition - the embassy obviously already has this.

Don't need the letter of intent as you're within your time limit.

Don't need any extra proof of relationship, as long as you submitted some in the I-129f packet.

On this last point, I get that you want to be prepared: I did too. I took boarding passes from a recent trip we took together, but it wasn't requested during my interview. Bring some boarding passes, bring a few photos, but you don't need to go overboard. London is very relaxed compared to other embassies, so don't get worked up reading about others' experiences in high-fraud embassies.

Basically, what I'm saying is take a deep breath and relax. Just take what you need and it will all be fine.

Hi DavidandJen,

I have confirmation that i booked for the premium delivery service for my visa documents (£18), Is the confirmation that i have booked with the courier service different to this?

I have so many pieces of paper i get confused on what is what... :help:

I do have an email that says i have scheduled my interview (with all details) and underneath it says courier selection details DX group and my information... Is this what i need?

Thank you :)

I then completed the following steps (not necessarily in this order)

  • Completed the DS-160 (now have the page with barcode and photograph on it)
  • Submitted the readiness form
  • paid the visa fee of just over £220
  • paid the £18 courier fee

So my medical and interview is booked. I have read so many people saying to take different things to the interview and some of these things i have never heard of. (could have been in the original petition and i am just not aware of the numbers and codes) All things are embassy specific so you want to believe what you are told from people from your embassy just to help minimize the confusion

I believe i have all the documents that i need for my medical even though there is more requested on the email from knightsbridge then what is on the websites a lot of the time

For my medical i have:

  1. Passport
  2. Police certificate & copy
  3. Vaccine records & copy
  4. Medical questionnaire & copy
  5. Letter from embassy (with visa category on it) & copy
  6. Medical history summary from GP & copy (Only needed if you have a history of something such as depression that you need to provide treatment information for)
  7. 4 x US sized photographs

I believe this is everything i need for this... Can anyone see i have missed something?

For my visa interview at US embassy in London i have the following documents:

  1. Appointment letter (received via email when booked)
  2. Passport & copy
  3. DS-160 (the one with your picture and barcode on it)
  4. Payment of visa confirmation (this is just a single sheet that has success on the top and my card details, the amount paid, a long reference number, a long PIN no. and transaction date)
  5. Birth certificate & copy
  6. 4 x US sized photographs (I am aware they only want 1 or two but i have just put them as i have them)
  7. Police certificate & copy
  8. Affidavit of support I-134 & copy
  9. Proof of employment, payslips, bank statements and tax return & copies (She didn't earn enough of her last tax return so may not need everything i have in normal circumstances but wanted proof of current income) If her tax return doesn't show she made enough don't even give it to them. This will contradict all the other information. The embassy in London only needs a couple. The proof of employment and payslips will do the job.
  10. Original I-129F packet (copy) Not needed in London... they have it.
  11. New letter of intent from petitioner & copy (just in case it is needed even though it is in date at time of interview) Only needed if you are passed your expiration date on your approval. We are bringing one just in case because our interview will only be one week before our expiry date.
  12. around 12 photographs of us together from first meeting to most recent with all months and location on back (one with our families together) Not needed, but if helps you feel more confident then bring them along
  13. Bank statement where i purchased her engagement ring (I was a fool and lost the receipt but her wedding band is her grandmothers so wont have a receipt for that either when it comes to AOS) Really not needed. Leave it at home
  14. phone log (we use Whatsapp and Facebook for video and voice calls but these only go back so far and show very little information) Also not needed, but if you want to you can show it right from your phone. You don't need to print it out. They really don't need it and never ask for it.

I will be adding the following to the interview packet:

  1. More call logs through to the date of the interview Not needed
  2. Boarding passes and itineraries from travelling Not Needed
  3. 2 more most recent photographs of us together Bring if you want
  4. screenshot of Facebook announcement of engagement Really not needed

Can anyone think of any form that i have missed or things that i would need to prove our relationship?

London is not a MENA country. We are part of the VWP and they are far more open and understanding that due to ease of travel back and forth that this is very likely to happen. Just remember to be confident and if having some of that additional paperwork helps you feel more confident, then bring it, but it is not necessary!

Here is a direct link to the embassy website where they have a PDF you can download a checklist of documents you need to bring to London for your interview... no more is needed and don't forget anything from this list!

Okay I will take your advice thank you.

Is there any advice you can give me on what the confirmation of booking with courier looks like? I do not have a specific email that confirms I have registered with them but it does say at the bottom of my interview email confirmation the courier selection details.

Thanks again:)

The notice on the bottom of your interview confirmation sheet should be okay. Also (correct me if I am wrong) but the Visa payment confirmation also should list that courier was selected on it as well since you have to pay the separate fee, if it doesn't, if you received a confirmation that your courier fee was paid that should be good.

Jon selected depot so I can't confirm from personal experience, just previous posts.
