Indianapolis: rescheduling biometrics appointment

If anyone has any experience in trying to reschedule a biometrics appt. at the Meridian St., Indianapolis center, could you please share?

Is there any possibility of showing up there as a walk-in? The whole "send the letter back" process seems so inefficient. I HAVE to be out of town on work the day they sent the appointment for

Thanks in advance!

It has been 2 years since we did AOS the first time and we are just starting to remove conditions, so we haven't had to go see them, but from the first time here is what I remember:

They do not accept walk-ins.

Everything is by appointment.

If you just show up, they will give you a form to fill out.

Best bet is to make an infopass appointment before your biometrics scheduled date. Explain your situation and see if they will do biometrics right then and there, or if you have to reschedule.

Good luck!

I had to reschedule my appt in VA, I just sent the letter back as instructed, wasnt that difficult, as well I stated I was available after so and so date. Was rescheduled for approx 2 weeks after my orginal interview date. You could ask for it to be on a certain date on the letter.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Don't know if this will help you or not but we had our biometrics for our AOS in Indy at 950 N. Meridian Street.

Our date was 2/5/07 and at the bottom of the letter it says that if you are unable to appear on this date you may go on the FOLLOWING Wednesday at the same time noted above as long as you appear before 4/16/07. If you do not go by this date your application will be considered abandoned.

Not sure this helps

Oh there is a number on the letter at the bottom. If you have any questions regarding this notice Please call 1-800-375-5283

If it weren't for rescheduling, which would you choose? Not showing up to your bio appt or going out of town?
