My pd November 14th and no update yet

Same for me.  My NOA1 letter is dated on 11/16 and the website indicates it was received on 11/14 for AP, and EAD.  My AOS fees were received on 11/16.  We completed our biometrics on 12/6.  I've heard nothing from them since we got the letter to go to the biometrics appointment and no updates to the website since 11/17.

This was posted by @yuna628 in another thread regarding any pending application for anyone from one of the 7 countries.

I'd like to draw attention to this article from the Intercept I mused over last night. If I judge what I'm reading correctly: if you came on a K1 from one of those 7 countries, and have filed to adjust your status, if you have been here for a long time and are trying to ROC, or if you are making the decision to file for citizenship - they are being directed to virtually shelve your cases indefinitely. https://theintercept.com/2017/01/30/asylum-officials-and-state-department-in-turmoil-there-are-people-literally-crying-in-the-office-here/

Quote

The immigration official said that staffers at one Department of Homeland Security office were devastated when they arrived at work Monday morning to find an email, circulated among DHS leadership over the weekend, informing department personnel that they would no longer be permitted to adjudicate any immigration claims from the seven countries targeted by Trump’s travel ban, including petitions for asylum, permanent residency, or naturalization.

“Effectively [sic] immediately and until additional guidance is received, you may not take final action on any petition or application where the applicant is a citizen or national of Syria, Iraq, Iran, Somalia, Yemen, Sudan, and Libya,” wrote Daniel M. Renaud, associate director of field operations for DHS’s office of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. “Field offices may interview applicants for adjustment of status and other benefits according to current processing guidance and may process petitions and applications for individuals from these countries up to the point where a decision would be made.”

“At that point, cases shall be placed on hold until further notice and will be shelved with specific NFTS codes which will be provided through the Regional Offices,” Renaud went on. “Offices are not permitted [to] make any final decision on affected cases to include approval, denial, withdrawal, or revocation.”

“Please look for additional guidance later this weekend on how to process naturalization applicants from one of the seven countries listed above who are currently scheduled for oath ceremony or whose N-400s have been approved and they are pending scheduling of oath ceremony,” Renaud wrote. “We expect to issue more detailed guidance and procedures as needed in the coming days.”

[..]

In practice, the senior immigration official told The Intercept, the directive means that if individuals fleeing wars or persecution in the countries targeted by Trump file for asylum, “We can’t issue a final decision.” Immigration authorities also can’t grant what is called “adjustment of status” to people already in the U.S. With respect to the oath ceremonies referenced in the directive, the official said the language indicates those could be placed on hold. When they would be resolved is unclear.

It was a move many within the government had feared, the official said — a so-called security hold that would essentially paralyze the asylum and immigration process for those fleeing some of the world’s most volatile places. “Permission to work, adjust status to a citizen or a permanent resident, any immigration form they have will stay in limbo,” the official explained. “We know what is coming. These cases will all likely be denied after significant waits.”

This is actually one aspect of the order, the media is not discussing.. nor have we been really talking about this as well.

Thank the two of you very much, y'all are most kind. I think the iron is hot and now is the time to strike. If it is indeed true that they'll eventually deny all cases then there is no point in waiting for her to get deported....which I have to say would be devastating, especially for her physical soundness.

Canada, perhaps?

Canada's PM said they will accept anyone denied by the US. And, from what I hear Canada is lovely hehe. I'm so sorry for you both ? (((hugs)))

If that is the case then the time must be now. Even EAD will not be approved. We're not going to waste away in this tiny redneck town fearing for the future. Thank you very much for your concern, it means a lot, we are shell shocked at the moment and devastated.

Well. I suppose starting a back-up plan is a pragmatic approach. Canada stood for the refugees, showing as you say, a humane leadership.

I want to hug your wife!! I know soooo many awesome Irani women back home in Sweden! Some of my best friends from Uni were strong, outspoken, entrepreneurial Iranian women with big goals. Thinkers that came looking for a democratic place where they could prosper! This is such unfair treatment.. Safety for Americans is one thing...  this is lunacy.

And as experts have already said, this isn't even making the country safe, but the complete opposite. ☹️

Hi guys, for reference, remember there is nothing official on this yet. I don't expect anything official will come out and it seems a fluid make it up as you go along sort of situation. Here is one lawyer discussing the memo as it relates to an asylum case. They feel it will allow an interview for their client, but proceed no further. He points out he's still not sure, due to the ambiguous wording of the EO in section 3 and the wording of the memo was is actually intended for the future after the 'pause'. He hopes it would be temporary if it does apply. I know it's distressing, but I'd still say be cautious. Perhaps if enough people do some 'rattling' on the issue, we can get proper clarification? The officers in these departments have their hands tied, and I'm confident they are desperately wanting to help everyone. The American Immigration Council also references the memo with concern. There are good people out there that will help fight this. This article is also talking about it here: https://www.soundimmigration.com/immigration-ban-executive-order-update-feb-1-2017/ Meaning if you were already approved prior to for whatever benefit, you can proceed with that benefit... the rest seem to be in limbo, or we do not know.

Thank you @yuna628 you are right, they are as of now temporarily on hold. Thank you for the extra information :)
