Hey guys, for the fingerprint appointment, it says to bring in the passport. Do we need to take a copy of the marriage certificate since the passport still has her maiden name and we filed the paperwork with the new last name ?

They asked us for proof of her last name as we filed using her married name. We showed them our marriage certificate as proof.

Yes, I don't think country matters for any of it.  AOS /field office or EAD/AP.

Don't all I-485 get handled by the local field office?  https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processingTimesDisplay.do  According to the processing guides they do.  http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/aosstats.php

I knew all EAD/AP get handled by service center as there is only one processing guide/times chart for that.

I'm under the impression all I-485 applications are handled at the local field offices.  If you use the guide and put in your field office it gives the processing date they are working on at each individual field office.  Detroit is very far behind San Diego in processing I-485, for example.

EAD/AP are handled by the service center.

confused my first post :) I tried to correct it :P
but.... well the EAD/AP are processed at NBC for (c)(9)...
i-485... yes I believe so, but I think some are transferred to the CSC.. I think there is an option for this in the timeline....

....but why I confused my post is that I've seen status updates in the online system for ppl that say the NBC has resumed working on your case or smth similar... (not meaning that's where they finish it)

Oh... and I'm also confused by the VJ timelines cause when I've check the data for Dallas office it gives the time of like.. around a year... but when I look at individual cases... for the last 2 years.. it's more like 3-5 months.. and I can't figure out why that is..

I'm not seeing anything that shows CSC handles I-485 or any processing times for that.

http://www.visajourney.com/content/times/  Looking at this link the I-485 is not listed in the list on the right hand side for service center processing dates.

http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/aosstats.php This is the link given when you click "Adjustment of Status processing times".  It only lists local field offices.

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processingTimesDisplay.do  This link for CSC has a line for I-485 and then states "employment-based adjustment applications".  So those who are adjusting status from employment based visa may get sent here but not K1s, family, tourist, etc.

That's where my impression is based from.

Ok right, that makes sense... I wonder what it was I've seen.. I search for transfer to CSC and I do find K1's being transferred... Maybe was that maybe before then?

It seems like it was happening to quite a few people back then.  It's been a few years, I haven't heard anything recently about transfers.

The AOS timeline link is confusing when you look at lengths to each step and then compare it to the individual field office processing times. Detroit has the shortest processing length yet they are the farthest behind according to their own date for I-485.  Weird, wouldn't they have the longest then??  Now, that is confusing.

Right!  look at chicago !  1529 days!  LOL something isn't adding up.  Their processing date is one of the closest (April 21, 2016).  I assumed this info came from timelines but IDK

CSC, is where they are transferred right? (when they are..)

Cases are no longer being transferred to CSC. It's either they stay at NBC or transferred to Local field offices..  If you're cases stay at NBC it means your interview is waived but if transferred you will most likely have an interview!!!
