I don't remember how long it took, but I was able to use the receipt number before the hardcopies arrived. The USCIS website will conduct system maintenance tonight though, maybe that's why it's not working for you.

Mine took about that time. I just wanna say though that unfortunately for some they never work on there for some reason with no explanation to why. Which wouldn't mean that anything at all is wrong, just that the process is a bit harder to follow. I guess try after the maintenance and idk if they can do anything if youcall them but it's worth a try. I'd give it two weeks before that though

I didn't know which number was which application till I got the hard copies hahahaha since it took a while b4 my online case check worked... but they were three! That's all I needed

Guys, about the I-864 not registering the numbers, it's because they use a 2D barcode to scan the data.

That means the form has to be completed either entirely by computer or entirely by hand. If you mix, they'll see the first page is computer-printed and they'll scan the whole form, and the handwritten information won't be captured. That's why the RFE was generated. You need to resend the I-864 with all the required documentation, and make sure you complete it entirely by computer or entirely by hand. I had no trouble filling it on computer using Adobe Reader, the household size numbers worked fine.

Maybe its just a few of us but I too had a hard time editing the I-864 form on computer so I just hand wrote everything. It wouldn't let me edit the household size or add in my apartment number. I tried on multiple different computers also using Adobe.

Any tips or tricks ?

Hey Guys,

Probably it is the holidays coming and I am simply impatient, but how long after sending the package you got any "news"? we sent the G1145 for email confirmation too, and the package got there on the 18th, and we received nothing yet! So I am just wondering what are the general waiting times, on getting the very first 'sign' that they started to deal with your case? Thanks.

NOA times vary...but we all have seemed to heard something after 2 weeks...so maybe the week of Jan 2nd for you?

Ok.. so i just realized that when you fill it out in the chrome browser.... it doesn't even add the 2D barcode.... so I wonder if that just voids the form completely or if they then scan the form as a regular non 2D barcode form...

edit: website reads "You are not required to complete the 2D barcoded forms electronically".... so if my form didn't have a barcode... it should be scanned as a handwritten form I assume... So still hope lol... omg... this process is killing me... can someone please distract me with a funny story or chocolate or SOMETHING b4 I loose my mind?

Good point...I think I eventually was able to get a blank one without the household size automatically filled in...had to print them at work on Windows...not the best place to be doing USCIS forms

That was before my RFE for it.

I just found out yesterday about the Adobe Reader download.....if you look through the yesterday's posts you will see the conversation. You have to fill out the prior pages (part 3) for page 4 calculation to work.

Ohh...dont worry bout the RFE...Everything will work out fine now.

I believe I did fill out everything sequentially and still had issues....anyhow, I eventually was able to download a blank at work and just filled it out by hand..hopefully everything was fine and they don't have an issue
