Evening all,

One question: What are you all doing about health insurance coverage? The deadline is this week and we are ready to apply for joint coverage (soooo expensive!!) but I just wanted to see if anyone here is doing otherwise??

Thanks in advance,

Charlotte

I added my husband as a beneficiary through my jobs ADP portal online. We got married in October a little bit before open enrollment ended and they require that you add the beneficiary within 1 month of the qualifying event (i.e. marriage).

Unfortunately I got a letter last week from HR saying that my husband needs a SSN to avoid penalties from the IRS. Im super confused by this because I told my HR rep that he did not have a SSN and would not be eligible for a few months. She said okay, fill out the form anyway and just get it to them ASAP.

I called her and emailed her the day after I got the letter and she said she would contact corporate to see how to solve this. I have yet to get an answer.

Correct me if I am wrong.

As we don't have SSN YET we won't receive penalties OR our spouses from the IRS for lack of health insurance, right?

I received my NOA1 in Dec 07 and docs were received by USCIS Nov 21. I am getting worry about no update in my case and no biometric info yet. I see people from same dates or after talking about biometrics. And no REF either.

Be glad don't worry. Our NOA1 was also 12-7. All we have so far is an RFE update. Be glad you haven't gotten that. You're fine.

Hi November VJ fillers.

I done my biometrics in the morning 9 am today.
Everything was ok. Now I am waiting for next stage.
Who knows how long now I will have to wait for work permit and can I apply for SSN and driver's license before my EAD will be approved?
And what about Medical exam (I-763)? ( I did not sent this form with AOS package)
Do I have to wait and expect get RFE from USCIS or should I proceed for I-763 myself (seek Civil Surgeon in my area who will complete this form?)

Hi, EAD is 90 days from NOA1 date. For SSN you'll need your EAD and for drivers license i think it depends on which state you're in, some state doesn't require SSN to apply for drivers license.
