Got my biometrics today for 12/29 :-) Faster than I expected! I filed under married name but as yet I haven't changed it on my SSN or any other documentation. Will my passport (with maiden name) and our marriage certificate suffice? Surely they can see from K-1 applications that it's the same person?

You will be fine, no reason to worry :luv:

Not to be a party-pooper. .. but you may run into difficulty (and you may not). A lot of ppl have been denied to change name b4 they have the EAD since the i-94 made them eligible for SSN under K1 category and that specific immigration document was verified but no document exists under the new name yet.... (it makes no sense to me!) Other ppl have had no problems. Just have it in the back of your mind in case they do say smth, that it's not all that unusual, so no need to be surprised in case they do tell you to wait.

In any case, I hope it goes smoothly for you :)

My RFE has not yet arrived in the mail but 2 or 3 days ago when we checked our AOS case status online it had changed from Fee Received to Request for Initial Evidence Mailed. :) Things seem to be moving quickly. When do you send in your packet and how far along are you?

We just got the online RFE update this morning. Our NOA1 was 12-07-16.

So you got the letter for the biometrics appointment even though your online status shows RFE?

Correct! Im hoping the RFE is a request for more evidence of our relationship. I have read a few people getting that RFE even though they have sent there Marriage Certificate etc. These people have sent in additional photos etc and have been approved without an interview.

woohoo! I've been watching your vlogs and felt very identified when you went to the mailbox and the letters hadn't arrived yet :P

I know right? I didnt follow this community for the K1 visa, but it's really good to have ppl going through the same experience :) I will be checking everyday for the biometrics now haha In what step are you?

Yay congrats!

Thanks :D!

Same with me! I regret it big time!! I don't know what I was thinking...worst mistake. I wish we would be able to still send it. But yeah, oh well. Now we're stuck here lol

lol I know...I think because of christmas I've been missing my family and country SO MUCH. But I just pray to get the Residency quick and make a quick trip to Peru :') Being in the house for so long doesn't help either lol.

I think you know so much that you might help me with my doubts! I was wondering if it's okay to change my name AFTer I receive the residency...I didn't want to do it before because of this process and the different documents from my country with my "old" last name and whatsoever. Would I be able to do it later without problems? Thanks!

I doubt very much that's what our RFE would be for. I sent in about 5 to 6 pages of wedding pictures, bank statements, insurance verification etc.

A few months back they were sending out RFE's for people who didn't complete the I-693 even though their vaccination sheet DS 3025 was marked complete.

I'm curious now if we will still get a biometric appointment letter.

I will look into that. So youre in Florida as well? Do they require DATA course? Thank you.

Ok thanks. I also have a doubt. Just want to know if anybody had done that coz we dont want to waste time going there for no result.

I think it's required for everyone, but not sure. My husband never had a license, the requirements may be different if you had a license in your country of origin. The DMV officer kept insisting we needed an I-130, which is for the IR-1/CR-1. I had to explain the difference and we just barely got him to the test. Also, he didn't receive a picture ID. He received a piece of paper which they said was the permit, and they said the picture ID had to be processed in Tallahassee, and that we should receive it in the next 60 days. This must be specific to immigrants.
