I am also in Colorado and got my bio appointment letter yesterday - I'm going to be away on the scheduled date (12/22) so i'm going to attempt walk-in at the Aurora location tomorrow - hopefully there are no problems!

Not yet, but my spouse has passed his DATA course, and is studying to go for the learner's permit test next week. Be sure to do your DATA course if it's required.

Am I understanding that some people have successfully walked in to the biometrics appointment unscheduled, or otherwise rescheduled it? We got our appointment for 12/21, and of course we will be out of town for the holidays then. There is a checkbox on the notice to reschedule and mail it back to them, but I don't particularly trust that such a request will be processed in time, and the notice says failure to appear will be considered abandonment.

According to the 800 number, the local USCIS doesn't allow walk-ins. Could I at least walk in and request a new appointment? Not sure if I should just change our travel plans, or attempt to get a new appointment. The tone-deafness of this process never ceases to amaze me.

I walked in without any problem 2 weeks early. When my dad had his appointment he wasn't in the city so he went without appointment to the closest uscis and they took him in as well.

You can try but I doubt social security administration will take the noa1 as a real document for your name change. They usually need a government issued ID with the new name to change it, being the ead card or green card, whichever comes first

Checked the El Paso, and it said no walk-ins either, so I'll give it a try. Maybe it's just a standard default in the recorded message.

I've been doing almost exactly the same. Netflix has been a very good friend to me at times haha. I think my wife has Assassins Creed and COD, so they may pass a few days

I have been applying for jobs. I decided to take a break since an HR manager told me that they couldn't go forward with my application as they only consider applicants who are already authorized to work/GC holders.

Anyone started applying to jobs? If yes, how is your application to interview ratio?
