Hi Guys,

I would have another question:

For the I-864 my husband needs to provide 3 most recent years of tax returns. In 2013 he was not working and living with his ex-girlfriend’s parents at that time.

We have a non-filing verification letter from the IRS and he wrote a letter stating he was living under the care of XYZ.

Will this be enough evidence or will we need letters from the parents stating he was living with them and they were supporting him for 2013?

Or should we hold off and file 2016 taxes and use 2016, 2015, 2014 as the most recent tax years to avoid any RFE for not filing in 2013?

Thanks!!

Being married to a USC, a financial loss to the beneficiary is a direct loss to the USC as well. They simply don't care. It's government bureaucracy, after all.

OH trust me I get it....

You would think they would try and consider US at all but

I have taken a beaten im the USC.

Severely taking one daily not to mention my husbands complete emasculated by this feels like im the husband hes not happy. Hes from a place where the men provide...

this is where people we vote into office matter...there stance on immigration and issues such as.

He only needs to provide last year's transcripts if you don't believe the earlier two will help prove ability to maintain stable income. For the other two years you just need to state the filed income (if any) and send with those documents you mentioned. You're good :) Edited by Suss&Camm

Congrats on all the NOA1's I've seen :) Seems like the Thanksgiving hump is mostly passed... Coming up ahead: X-Mas and New Years Mountain range... ;)

I received hard copies of my NOA1 over a week ago. When should I expect the letter for biometrics? I feel like everyone said they got theirs shortly after.

Most get theirs between 1-4 weeks.. :) don't worry

Lol you're making me go graze the kitchen ;)

I do my best to add to people's waistlines. Next up is learning a couple of more Japanese Recipes. 1) Japanese Beef Curry and 2) Soy Milk Vegetarian Ramen Soup.

Others: The Biometric Letter came within a couple of weeks of the NOA1. Have patience. You're going to need it. EAD cards are 3 months and I doubt anyone is going to get an expedite approved. We all are having financial hardships with this process. Everyone should have realized this when they started this journey. Green Cards.... anyone's guess to how long and no use sweating over it. No one is out of status while the applications are active. Just concentrate on enjoying your lives together and gathering relationship evidence. My wife has been here two months and I think we have enough evidence already so that there would be no doubts. The two important items are EAD and Advanced Parole so that our significant others are stuck home with too much time on theirs hands worrying about things that are out of their control.

Sending your supporting docs with the aos packet won't count. You should just send the docs again to the address they said

I'll try that, thanks. Let's see what happens.

Hello everyone! Mind if I join as well. We filled my AOS last November 10, 2016 after 20 days I received a text from USCIS that they have my AOS application. On December 5 we received the I-797 Notice in the mail.

I have a question though, whats next?

can I use the I-797 to change my name on my SSC to my married name?
