Help!

I just got this today:

Request for Initial Evidence Was Mailed

What this does mean?

It means that either you failed to include something in the package, or the have lost a piece of document or the need additional evidence. Usually it's something simple. Don't be alarm you will receive a letter in the mail stating what exactly they need!

In some cases you can file an I-130 for a kid to prevent him/her from overaging due to the Child Status Protection Act.

See this link for research and this one for how it interacts with K-2s.

We already look into that but unfortunately it doesnt apply to us since me and my husband got married when my daughter is already past 18 years old.

You can try and place an expedite request, try and argue the K-2 aging out is an emergency situation. But I'm not sure it's going to work. Good luck.

Don't know anything else you could do besides that.

Hey guys, I've been reading this thread all day, hoping to see other people in the same boat as me so I can stop myself from freaking out.

I'm adjusting from B1/B2 visa, finally after one year married (august 7th) we sent our applications on Nov. 22, received at Chicago Lockbox on the 23rd. Still haven't received text/email, and didn't even get the return receipt in the mail ? so naturally I'm a bit nervous, but trying to stay as calm as possible since they got our package right before the thanksgiving break.

Sigh, I better get a text by Friday or I'll lose it ?

I still didn't receive anything. The check wasn't cashed yet. My husband is freaking out because I am pregnant and he thinks I might be deported and he won't able to see our baby. We went the documents around the 15th of November and I really don't know what to do because I am traveling with him around the States since he doesn't want me to be home alone for too long.

Anyone from the 15th has received their notification yet? Or has any news that their check was cashed? Which number should I call to know if my package was delivered?

My timeline:

I-129 sent: March 21, 2016 - SENT

NOA1: March 30, 2016 - RECEIVED

NOA2: June 14, 2016 - RECEIVED

NVC: July 15, 2016 - CASE NUMBER RECEIVED

MEDICAL: August 17, 2016 - DONE

INTERVIEW: August 23, 2016 - APPROVED!! :dancing:

POE: September 6, 2016 - IAH :D - final destination - CHICAGO O'HARE
