Had our interview today at the NYC office.

We were both interviewed in the same room though....I was under the impression that we would be asked questions separate but after looking on VJ I see this has happened before

I was so nervous...hubby was in pain cuz he sprained his neck muscle. I corrected him on ONE question he answered wrong and the officer seemed satisfied.

However he was unsatisfied that we have a joint bank account but we use my account to pay bills. I explained that hubby didnt work for a large amount of the year due to EAD error , therefore I paid all the bills and it was easier to just pay from my account. He nodded and jotted down some notes.

He also had suspicious questions about the lease...AGAIN...I live in a nyc affordable housing complex that required a ton of documents that my husband did not have at the time of lease renewal. He nodded and jotted down some notes.

He asked us each others birthdays, asked me about my husbands son (his name, dob, where he is), and other questions about our dating period. He also looked through pics on our phone and we gave him some print outs.

He said the green card he would receive is 2 years and we gotta apply to remove conditions...already knew that

He then told us that he had to submit the file for a background check and they would get back to us within 90 days.

Ugh! Fingers crossed this is over

The EAD is the DHS authorization, meaning you're only allowed to use your SSN for work if you also have an EAD

Once you receive your greencard you can go back to the SSA and have them remove the DHS authorization text on the SS card. Once you have your greencard they remove the DHS restriction as it's no longer needed.

There's no reason to go back to the SSA and request a new card after you receive your EAD, unless you want to change your name on the card.

thank u @Scandi and @LionessDeon, do we have to change SS card again after two years when ROC gets approved? We moved to a new place last week and my interview is on 25th, should we both get our driver's license renewed? Our licenses have the same old address we lived last year

Interview was this morning and we were approved on the spot :)

It was very straightforward, asked a couple of questions from the I485 plus a few others such as when did we meet, did my family come over for our wedding etc. We've moved house since we applied so asked to see a new lease and that was it!

We did have an attorney prepare the packet for us and he was extremely thorough which I think really helped.

Good luck to everyone else waiting - good news will soon come

I want to get done with the interview which is on Monday Sep 25th. but, My wife is in last stage of pregnancy, she is supposed to be due on October 10th, but yesterday the Ob-gyn said that she might go in labor any day from now onwards. I couldn't get an infopass appointment at my local field office and I do not want to reschedule it right now and then she doesn't go into labor until October. Only reason I am worried is because if she goes into labor on saturday, then how can I take her or re schedule it. Interview is on September 25th Monday morning.

Hey guys,  I went to my interview on Sept 15, 2017, my attorney was there, lasted about 25 min.

Here is my interview experience:

The IO called our number and we walked in the room where the interview took place. She was young, very nice overall, didn't have the mean look at all. My attorney said it was the first time he met this IO (he has been to a lot of AOS interviews) We swore in and she opened our file and started asking both of us: What is your name, what is your DOB, where have you lived in the past 5 years, who did you live with, which school did you go to, all basic verification questions. Then she asked us about our relationship and marriage questions. When we told her how we met, she smiled and then asked how he proposed to me and how long was our relationship before getting married. Then she asked how the relationship went after the proposal, I said I and my in law planned the wedding, then I talked about the wedding for a bit. She then asked me my spouse's name and his DOB (easy). She went over the I-485 questions then asked if we had any questions. I told her I prepared a folder and asked her if she would like to see all of our photos, bank statements, bills, wedding invitation, activities, joint tax return etc (I spent a lot of time preparing it so I just thought I should show her those ?). She said "okay I will look at some pictures" then asked me to explained what was going on in the pictures. She smiled at I was going through them and after that she told me "that's all, I already have a few things in your file so I don't need those".  Did not take anything from me, not a look at the originals or other evidences. We said "thank you for having us" and that's it. My attorney did not need to say anything during the interview, I asked her how did she think it went and she said it was good, I don't have to worry too much, she was just surprised we didn't get approved on the spot. However, she said showing the new evidences without the IO asking for it might be a little  over-prepared, because to them, it seemed a little rehearsed (well I spent days preparing it so I thought I might as well show it , i did not think much at all lol).

When we got home, the status changed to " Interview was completed and my case must be reviewed.

Your interview for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCXXXXXX, was completed, and your case must be reviewed. We will mail you a notice if we make a decision or take further action. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address."

I have read a lot of AOS posts and this is the first time I see this status. What will happen now ?

IS ANYBODY IN THIS FORUM OR KNOWS ANYONE IN THE SAME SITUATIONS ?

Yes, i had my interview 07/19/2017 in Baltimore, the interview lasted 20 min. The IO said doesn't need more evidence, he said everything looks good, and we should expect the decision in mail. The same day the status changed to interview was completed and the case is under review. Has been  2 months already the status hasn't changed,i put a service request and didn't get response.
