Don't hold your breath on that 🙃

I'll be shocked if I ever hear anything about it again. I'll be extra shocked if I don't end up missing the hypothetical call because, you know...every day life is a thing that happens.

Hi guys! I hope everybody is doing great. I received the combo card in February and got my RN license as well! Just waiting to get news for the AOS. This has been asked before but my husband and I are planning a 10 day vacation in Europe and was wondering if anyone has had a recent experience of traveling abroad with the AP. Hopefully i won't have any issues when returning to the US but got a little concerned when i called the DMV and asked about the process to obtain the instruction permit and the lady over the phone said i was illegally in the country! She did not even let me explain to her about the K1 visa! This person may not have knowledge about that but now i am concerned about traveling outside the country even with the AP. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks

Guyss!! I never got an email/text update and the USCIS website is not updated either, but I just received in the mail an appointment date for AOS on May 22. What can I prepare and bring to the interview? We have a bank account and credit cards together, but we don't really have any bills together yet because we are still staying at my parents home. Any advice would be appreciated because I was hoping we would get approved without interview since it's kind of nerve-wracking.

The DMV is not well versed in k-visas.  Once i485 is filed, you are here in a legally protected authorized stay period.

In theory, you should not have any issues using AP to travel, however, I have read some airlines aren't familiar with what that is either.  Best bet would be to call and ensure you won't have any problems.

Thanks for replying! I'm reading that some november filers are getting their interviews appt. My application was sent on Nov 9th and haven't heard anything yet, the status is on "fingerprint fee was received" still. We plan on travelling from May 27th to June4th. Now i'm thinking that maybe we should wait until we hear from Uscis.

So...miracle of miracles, I actually got a call back from a tier 2 officer who changed the service request and then told me that I should hear back within 5 days. I mean, I was pretty sure she said 5 days, but that seemed too good to be true. I checked the online tracker a few minutes later and it listed the two service requests (the wrong one and the right one) and both were listed as "not yet assigned for processing". Just now - so less than an hour after I'd checked last - I saw that the correct service request had gone from "not assigned" to "we sent a response" to "completed", seemingly all at once.

Innnnteresting.

Wow... you should have gotten her name - I would have reported her to her supervisor. They shouldn't try to inform on subjects that are not in their job description - ofc this scares ppl!

No - If it was done in August then it is still valid. The letter is obviously a mistake. - and congrats on the interview! :D

I don't know if you could, or if it's needed to call. It's pretty simple to point to the date and to the inconsistency with their policy as written either in their letter or in the online instructions. It should be fine to just bring the letter and your DS-3025 -or whatever medical document you have in your possession from then - that shows the date. They have the overseas medical . perhaps they read the date wrong? Was the medical done between the1st-5th of August by any chance? Cause could just be the European format of e.g. dd/mm/yyyy as opposed to the US mm/dd/yyyy.

In any case, I've seen ppl get these letters in error before - not like it's super common but it's definitely not uncommon either
