I just got off the phone with USCIS because I decided to also raise a service request for my EAD (might as well go all in and let them know I mean business, haha). When I explained the situation to her, she noted that they received my application on November 21st and that the office - I'm assuming she meant the National Benefits Center - is now processing applications as of November 29th, so it is outside of normal processing time even with the RFIE for the I-485. I thought that might be useful information for anyone who's still waiting.

Not sure why I bothered to call USCIS.  I already knew they would be NO help.

My case status has not updated on the case tracker site, yet we received a letter for interview for May 5, 2017.  Not the problem really....I already knew they were going to interview us with our background.  What is the problem is that it is schedule at a local field office 3 hours away instead of the one only 45 minutes away where he did biometrics.  Anyone know why they would do that?  I'm hesitant to reschedule and cause further problem.  I knew this was not going to be easy.   :bonk:

Yikes!  That really sucks.

Perhaps it's based on workload at the asc?

I don't know. I'm going to try getting a Tier 2 supervisor tomorrow. She couldn't transfer me today for some unknown reason.

It's always something with them.  I feel bad bc I know it's not the individual we speak to, but it's just not a very helpful "service" they provide.  When I first started this journey (before finding VJ) I had called a few times for various things and they basically just read right from the webpage to me.  Which is what I could do myself.

Hopefully you can get some assistance and get it moved to the closer location.  3 hours is quite the hike.

Are you sure that where he did the Biometrics isn't just an ASC (Application Support Center)? Mine was.

Hi all!

Are there any members that still have not heard from USCIS.

My AOS forms were received on November 29th and it still shows that message on their website, but thats it.  Also we filed a service request MArch 31st and still havent heard from them.

Is there a chance that I get schedule for interview without EAD approval first?

Anyone else in this situation?

I have a very similar timeline; application received December 2nd and NOA 7th Dec. Filed two SR's but only received a response via mail for the second, which simply stated that the case was being reviewed. No EAD, AP or interview date, and no updates (other the the SR response) since Jan 10th.

I had to call to file a service request the other day (we're still waiting because of a very late RFIE but our NOA date is November 1st) and the woman I spoke to told me that the National Benefit Center is currently processing EAD applications from November 29th.

Our NOA date is November 21st*. Typing while distracted rarely ends well.
