that is simply a tax withholding rate and doesnt mean anything for immigration.

to change it, simply fill out a new W4 and submit that to your payroll. telling HR is a waste of time. you'll get more money in your paycheck too.

Thank you very much for your answer!

My wife told me that she will do that when the next school year starts.

It will depend on what level of SAVE verification is needed to verify you. Did they manage to verify you on the spot?

I believe so, yes.

As soon as I got home, I checked on SAVE and it said 'Case returned to agency'.

The SSA employee told me two weeks. I am hoping it's more like one.

Thanks.

That's great! In this case it will depend on what day of week you applied and how they do things at your particular office. The lady where I last applied to have the *DHS authorization*-note removed told me that they print out all verifications once a week and send those verified for card production. So that's why i believe they say it can take 2 weeks. Assuming one is verified:

1. The first possible week is how long it can take until your verification is on the printed for card issuance list. If you are verified on the Monday afternoon, and they print it normally on Monday mornings, then it will be one week until it's sent for issuance, whereas if you applied on Friday afternoon and they print it on Monday morning then it will be sent off a lot faster. I didn't manage to ask when they actually to this printing though!!

2. The second possible week, is for the issuance and mailing.

So... hopefully yours has already been sent for issuance ;)
