Don't believe everything you read?  hahaha just kidding  We are more or less all in the same boat. It's easy to stress out... like me, I noticed that I wrote the wrong amount on the i-864... 19a... I copied wrong by $1!! that one number had me worried about an rfe... cause technically they could do that! It all turned out fine thankfully. I'm sure it will for you also...

My husband works an evening shift so he is still asleep but I need to share this news with someone, and all of you are SO great -- I am hired!!  For a Title Insurance Real Estate law firm that's a 4 minute drive from our house.  I am SO excited this morning - Best Monday ever.  ???

Monday morning.  Which is perfect bc I still have some leg work to do bc there is a name-mismatch with social security.  I'm dreading that 2 hour visit to try for the second time to amend my name from maiden to married.

I went back to the office about a week after I received the marriage certificate and my i94 was still valid, but they applied for another number or something like that bc I got a letter saying the name didn't match DHS records.  Presumably it was bc I didn't even have an NOA1 from the AOS.  Either that or the lady was confused and thinking I was applying for an initial number. 

 

I've just been avoiding having to go back down there.  Usually the people waiting are quite rude to the staff so then they're miserable with the rest of the people they help.

right! well now there shouldn't be a problem because they are verifying a document that is registered with immigration

ARRRRRGGGHHHH!!!! 

Just got off the phone with USCIS and got yet ANOTHER, DIFFERENT answer about how my AOS RFIE will affect my EAD.  They confirmed that is DOES restart the clock (unlike what the USCIS IO told me 2 weeks ago).  Tearing my hair out.  NO DL, SNN in maiden name and can't fix it, STILL can't work or leave the country.  So frustrated that it took them over 90 days to request evidence on AOS, which should never have been an RFIE in the first place.  

 

Has anyone else had RFIE for AOS?  How did it affect you EAD application?

I just put another SR... So this one is the 3rd SR and I put it online this time (the other 2 I had put through the phone with customer service).

 

The next option is to ask to expedite it... What is the process for this? Do I need to call them or I can put it online.

I'm actually not sure, maybe someone else knows. But I would wait a few days and see what happens, because USCIS doesn't respond to the service requests immediately. It took a few days for my third one and then the EAD/AP got approved after their response. It's actually out for delivery right now. What day are you on?

This is getting absurd! Filed AOS with I-765 and I-131, had NOA of 11/23/2016.

 

My wife had a job offer to start today but the I-765 was not approved yet. I called in early February to expedite it based on the job offer and that was denied because the idiot put my name as the applicant, however I am the petitioner so they should have been able to identify the mistake, but nope they just declined to expedite due to the names not matching and I received the notice last week. I put in a SR last week and it came back saying they will get to it when they get to it. Called my congressman's office and still no action.

 

FK USCIS!

This is terrible man... I'm sure you're gonna get it soon!

How long did they take to "deny" your expedite request? Did you send them the offer? By email or fax?

 

My next step will be getting in touch with the congressman... How do I find their contact?
