Hello everyone,

I have heard that people who are adjusting their statuses right now, tend to wait for a year from the day USCIS received the documents because Trump deployed half of the immigration workers. Is that true? because one of my friend in Seattle flied his documents 2016 feb and he just got at interview 2017 feb? Anyone who has already got an interview date in Seattle wanna share experiences?. Another question is that i have just applied SSN yesterday and they said it will come to my mail within 2 weeks. Is there anyone get it before 2 weeks? Thanks

As you know many k visas are approved without an interview a luxury that visitors visas do not enjoy.

Those of us who are adjusting from K visas might not have an interview for the AOS, but we or in my case my wife (fiance at the time) recently had the interview for the K1 visa. In our case, the interview was Sept. 17. She arrived in the U.S. Nov.1, we married Nov. 9, and filed for AOS Nov 14.

USCIS may determine that since her interview was so recent, and with the info we provided in our I-129F petition, that we don't need to be interviewed again.

I don't see that as a luxury. We chose to get married early in the 90 days that the K1 allows for, and file the AOS quickly. If USCIS chooses not to interview my wife for the AOS, then I see that as a benefit for us and and frees up an interview spot for someone else.

My SSN took 7-8 weeks, but that is not typical.  There was an issue upon my arrival (land border from Canada in NY) where the CBP officer processing my entrance missed a letter in my maiden name.  I of course didn't notice because I was so damn excited that the day had come where I could actually live with fiancé and see him every day (and plan a wedding in 2 weeks.)  But yeah, my i94 (and DHS) record didn't match my SSN application.  I had to go back to a deferred inspection site and have them amend it, and then the wait for SSN to re-evaluate based on updated records.

An SSN should take no more than 10 business days to receive, provided there are no issues like I encountered.

You can try to put in a service request.. yea, you can do that either by calling or making an e-request on the website. Hard to say if it'll help or not but it doesn't cost anything to try.. ;)

Thank you again... I called them last Friday and mentioned it and the lady told me that it had something to do with the USCIS internet servers and that my case is still in process. I put in a service request two days ago... We'll see what happens...:))

On 2/14, got 4 emails and two texts that my EAD card was being produced.  On 2/17, got 2 texts and 4 emails that the card was mailed.  Now, I'm stalking the postman for the card instead of checking the website every hour... haha!  Wonder when some interviews will start getting scheduled?
