If you allow me to interrupt here...just because she was the only mentioning it, doesn't mean she is the only one that think that way. I know there has been K1 AOS approved in 3  months ...but people I know personally that came with tourist visa, over stayed and got married (no kids), they all got approved in 3-4 months aprox. When I told them that my process takes +7 months, they were surprised because they never experienced that. Besides that, just by checking every timeline I did notice that ppl adjusting from other visas than k1 got quicker approvals. (Not ALL of them though, but at least some before K1's) So I think it's a valid assumption, but not a rule.

I addressed that a few posts ago before the thread got crazy because I had the tourist visa...but we decided to apply for the K1 because I was going to enter to marry him. (I do understand that people do whatever they need to do with their visas because a couple of friends are doing it right now, and I am no one to judge) but seeing some B1/B2 getting quicker answers, it made me thing "What if I had used my tourist visa..." The game of the What if's.

We just need to be more tolerant and stop ruin the good vibe this thread has had for the past months! We all can vent here....because I doubt we know more people going through this process in person, than we have here :)

If someone want's to argue, I suggest doing it by private message :):) We're all in this together, the waiting game...<3 let's stick together! Wild cats! With the head in the game!! (sorry, old fan of HSM) haha have a nice day everyone!

Like I said everyone is entitled to their own opinion and if you'd read my comment properly would've seen that I was not directly talking to her!!!!!! And maybe before making such "assumptions", people need to research outside of vj. Because they're many other websites that person's from October and even September still waiting for EAD so making assumptions from a few timelines here on vj is crazy. Oh and FYI I'm sure USCIS isn't bias based on visa categories but they go by which AOS application received first... People here thinking that because they're adjusting from K1 visas USCIS should just drop the application of other persons who's application arrived before and do theirs because they're so much more important. To compare K1 visa process and AOS is absurd because it's too different process...  You'll need to get over yourself thinking that because you entered on k1 visa make you some kind of "royalty", USCIS could care less about who think they're "royalty"...

Changing the topic entirely...

Can anyone who received EAD approval in the past week or two let us know how quickly after they received the first email saying a card is being produced did they get the email that the card was actually mailed? Just curious. Thanks!

Hi, mine arrived 6 days later.

Approved on the Jan,17

Didn't get the update on USCIS website until the 19th for approval and hours later mailed notice.

It arrived by priority mail 4 days after mailed. A total of 6 days.

Such an over the top response. I'm sorry I've ruined your week by voicing an *opinion*. Not sure where I suggested anyone should have their application dropped over anyone else. I believe I made a common sense point, nothing to do with feeling like I am more important than anyone else or 'royalty'.

2017-01-24: New card being produced. I never received any notification. I just randomly happened to visit the website.

2017-01-26 Card was mailed to me. Received  a text message as well.

2017-01-30 Got the card in the mail. It was a combo card, although my AP status is still " Case received".

Same here!!! I've had few job interviews this month and I just can't wait for EAD! I will be sending a service request when I reach my 90 day mark if won't hear anything by then.

Hi ! I didn't realize we could attend job interviews ! How did the employers react when you told about your EAD status ? Or did it not come up ? I was concerned I'd be misrepresenting myself, can you tell me about your experience ? Thanks !

I had few phone interviews but no in-person interview. First thing they ask is the visa status. My experience wasn't very positive as they required authorization before going forward. Some of them even require Green Card (Ability to work without duration restrictions). Explaining that the EAD is valid one year while they process GC wasn't enough as nothing is guaranteed when it comes to immigration process.

However, I have read here that many people are having job offers before even getting EAD, so it depends.

Things goes just as normal at the interview... when they ask when you are able to start or want to start u let them know about your situation and give them a estimated time. That's what I did at my interviews

Mmmm thank for sharing!  The green card thing is a little alarming, but all you can do is explain i suppose.
