1) Our local diner here has something called ''The Pilgrim'', it's your atypical Thanksgiving leftover sandwich, but it's a mammoth triple decker. The best part about this thing is it's put on a flatbread, and not just any flatbread.. it's really close to a NE-UK thing called a Stottie, and it's all shades of perfection. The second best thing is they bring the heat with zesty melted pepper-jack cheese and a very thin spread of honey mustard. The hot turkey, zesty cheese and mustard, the cranberry and dressing. It's died and went to heaven stuff.

2) Chip butties. We just don't do them right in America, but they are glorious things in the UK.

3)BLT.

4) Grilled cheese sandwiches. There are ones made to excellence and then there are really bad greasy nasty things with poor quality cheese. If you find a good one cherish that thing.

5) Pit Beef/Turkey sandwich. B'more classic.

Took hubby to only one of two places I know that are British owned and know how to make it properly. His face lit up for sure. He said it wasn't entirely like back home but it was close enough. It was so big I couldn't even finish it.
