Schedule Interview before Packet 3?

I wonder can we schedule interview date before beneficiary receive packet 3? I had case # from NVC paid visa fee already at post location in Vietnam..

Is there issue that I schedule interview prior to packet 3?

Just wants to make sure...

As far as I know you can schedule it . Track your case number if its in the embassy now or en route over there .

You can schedule the interview appointment but you will need the letter from the Packet 3 for medical exam and vaccinations. If it has been more than a few weeks since the consulate has received a hard-copy of your I-129f petition, I'd suggest that you contact the consulate and inquire about the status of Packet 3. They can email you a copy of Packet 3 letter that you can use for med exam and vaccinations.

Our case was updated to Ready today in the Visa Tracking system. Does this mean than in a week or so the US Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City will mail the packet to my fiancee Duong? She lives in Vinh Long which is about 2 hours drive from Ho Chi Minh City. Will email my fiancee Duong tomorrow with instructions on what she needs to do now. We are targeting a late January 2017 or early February 2017 visa interview date. This will give me more time to accrue leave at work to spend two weeks when I go for her visa interview.

That means the consulate will be getting the physical file in a week or so, and they usually mail out Packet 3 a few weeks after that. Shoot for 2-3 weeks after.

Thank you so much for responding to my question. I appreciate it. I told my fiancee Duong to expect Packet in 2 to 3 weeks from now.
