No meltdowns on my end, I simply do not invest that much energy into politics. I've been saying for months that neither of these candidates would be good for the presidency. Like I said a few posts above, "we're screwed either way".

It does appear that I was just a tad off in my prediction of Hillary by 8% however.

Here's hoping that The Donald can work together with congress to actually make America better. There has been a complete disconnect between the white house and congress for over 12 years now, I'd like to see that change. I'm not that optimistic, but time will tell.

On another note, my state of Mass did vote to legalize marijuana so I'll be able to smoke any concerns away.

With the popular vote at an almost dead tie, it doesn't appear that we will have a winner of the VJ prediction thread grand prize of an all expense paid vacation on the beautiful beaches of Ankara. No one gave a percentage prediction with the correct winner that came close.

I would like to get an update on the amount of arrests made for voter fraud on election day. Based on the stories posted here there must have been thousands of arrests made. Anyone have those numbers?

like i said, joe bageant is spinning in his grave. i've dedicated this weekend to rereading all this writing, for my sanity.

that being said, i'm used to being surrounded on all sides by loudmouthed, ignorant, sexist fools..so the transition isn't going to be that difficult for me..i just have to suffer more gloating. at least i'm getting paid.

Glad you won't melt down. Actually, no one needs to melt down. There is still a LOT of work to be done, and we can only hope/pray that Trump actually does some good for America. I know good is relative to the viewer, but one still must hope.

As to his victory, I had it pegged about the same way you did. I really thought he'd win the popular vote, and Hillary the electoral. I never dreamed he would take an early lead and hold it til the end. I am just as surprised as you, I guess is what I am saying. I pretty much hate politics, and dislike the dishonesty of politicians in general. The idea that they are in it for the good of the people... Well, all say that, but at the end of the day, they really just want the power and money, I suspect. OTWT if the same is true of Trump.

You obviously weren't paying attention when Oriz told you the election doesn't drive the markets; it's the other way around. Currently .4% higher than yesterday's close.
