Don't staple! Use paper clips or binder clips because they will seperate your papers once they're being processed

Spend a few extra dollars and send FedEx or UPS 2nd Day Air. Send to the address in Lewisville.

USPS is less than stellar. Their tracking capabilities are horrible.

You are sending important documents, some not easily replaced. USPS is not a reliable way to send important documents.

You can good UPS and FedEx locations to bring you package to and ship from there. They have retail stores all over the US

As other have said, do not use staples or binder.

Good luck!

I have never had bad experience with USPS, even international mails/packages

I used Priority Mail for my case. Worked just fined

Yeah I have a cover letter. Right now i am holding one big stack of 118 pages in my hand....no staples...just a giant black clip...that's how they want it?

Ours was 195 pages (One Divorce decree was 50 pages spanning 15 years of court). USCIS says on their site instructions that "they appreciate two hole punch system". So get a two hole punch and a two hole punch'd folder and USCIS will be very happy. Now - we ALL WANT USCIS TO BE VERY HAPPY when handling our case - no?

If anyone has doubts about that - this is taken from the USCIS website which you can google:

In preparing your packet, please take note of the following:
  • Do not use binders or folders that cannot be easily disassembled.
  • Use ACCO fasteners to hold together thick or bulky applications or petitions. Two-hole punching the top of the material for easy placement in the file is appreciated.
  • The use of tabs assist in locating items listed as attachments. The tabs should be placed on the bottom and not the side for ease in filing.
  • Avoid using heavy-duty staples; instead use ACCO fasteners or heavy clips.
  • Avoid submitting originals unless specifically required. Avoid submitting oversized documentation when possible.

Hello :)

You can send it using USPS or a carrier.

Here is the information on USCIS website:

USPS:

USCIS

P.O. Box 660151

Dallas, TX 75266

Lewisville, TX 75067

I advise you to not use a binder since USCIS does not like it. A paper clip is just fine

I recently just sent in my packet in a binder and they accepted it. Given, mine was extremely organized and put together in plastic sheets for them to pull out. We just got our NOA2 a few weeks ago so it's getting exciting :D

Congratulations on your NOA 2 :) Although your case was accepted, USCIS specifically says to not use a binder so it's better to not take the chance of the petition being denied because of something that is avoidable

I sent my k1 visa package, adjustment of status, removal of conditions and citizenship the same way. I used a white 3 rings binder and I also used those plastic sleeve /sheets that can be use with the binder so it looked extremely neat, organized and professional.

Of course, the uscis employee tossed them away but I didn't mind because I used recycle ones from my husband's previous job. Im very OCD so for my mental sake I just wanted to make sure everything was perfect.

I also bought the same plastic sleeves for photograph and pictures (which also worked great with the binder) so everything was in the same binder and it look like a book pretty much.

We were so satisfy with the results that we decided to do it with the rest of our immigration journey and the last one we sent was my citizenship one.

Sending just an envelope with the papers is more than fine but I always like to give the extra mile in everything I do. I even created an index so whoever who got my package could find everything quick instead of going back and forth on a stack of papers.

I also make two exact copies of every binder one to send and the other one to keep it with me just in case.

Is that a new policy? I don't remember reading that anywhere plus I sent my k1 visa, adjustment of status, removal of conditions and citizenship in binders and it was never an issue nor I received any complains

The way you have it with the black binder is fine. If you want to, you can separate the sections down the side with regular paperclips which is what we did to make it a little easier to separate it as the USCIS will take it and separate it into their file the way they want it. You DO NOT need to put it in a binder, what you have is sufficient as long as it is in the same order as on your coversheet, you will be fine.

Not sure if a new policy or not but it is part of the general tips on assembling applications for mailing on USCIS website. It says "Do not use binders or folders that cannot be easily disassembled", you can read it on https://www.uscis.gov/forms/forms-and-fees/general-tips-assembling-applications-mailing
