For sure! Thought that was bizarre!

 

Meanwhile I went to my local field office today to see if they could schedule me for tomorrow's oath ceremony, but I was told they could not, so I will most likely have to come back early from a trip to Europe in order to attend a May ceremony...It could be worse though, I could still be waiting, so yeah, I'm not complaining!

So, the thing is that the information for both the ROC and Naturalization are pretty much the same for me, I only added more evidence. The Officer said "we well work with both cases together, we will go back and forth, but I won't be able to approve them now, because they only give us 45 minutes". To be honest I was really anxious about the civic test. I know it's very easy, but I suck at remembering names and dates. The questions for the test were extremely easy, such as "what's the political party of the president?". I already forgot the rest of them, but nothing about dates or names, basically. The English part is just to read and write a sentence, but I knew that and it was very easy. Then she asked me questions. She asked why we don't have kids (she repeated this question 2 times, and the second time I explained we have 4 cats and 3 dogs and she wrote it down). She actually asked me if I had brought some extra evidence and I said that I didn't know I had, I submitted everything online and so she said "Oh, ok, I will have a look at that later, then". Also, my husband was outside, so I let her know and she said "it's ok, if we need him, we will call him". So pretty much I don't know how they handled the case, I can tell you at the interview she had both my cases. She was presumably reading things from both. She printed a paper saying that I passed the test, but they couldn't approved me just yet. Online it shows that the case has been moved to another office like 4 times. In fact in one of the online systems it doesn't show yet that I have been approved, although I received the letter (I received 3 identical letters). Presumably and for the little we know from online status, "my green card is in production" and "I'm in line for the oath", with both cases approved, but at this point I know that anything can happen. In fact I received today a notice that they tried to deliver a certified letter. It will arrived in the post office tomorrow. For what I've read, it's bad news. Good news never come on a certified letter. So I will have to wait and see what it is.

Glad to hear your good news. It looks like your cases got approved pretty soon after you had interview on 4/3/2018? So when did your online status change to "card is in production"?

April 17th I got the status that card is in production.

Have you received any other update, more than pending oath? Because that's the last I've heard, that I'm only missing my Oath ceremony. I haven't heard anything yet and I know it can be really fast or it can take a while. In fact at the interview the officer kinda implied that I probably would be a citizen before I get my green card in the mail, so I was expecting for this ceremony to be scheduled a little bit faster, but oh well. I can't wait to be over with this process, specially knowing that the ceremony is a whole other missed day at work too.

I'm also expecting not to receive the GC before I become a citizen, or maybe that's just my wishful thinking! LOL

 

I'll keep you posted, hopefully by the end of next week both of us will have a scheduled ceremony to put down on the calendar.

Approval for permanent residency letter dated April 16, 2018. Had an NOA date of Nov 7, 2016. So relieved.... Will try to figure out how to update the chain letter thingy.

 

Visa journey is the best. I didn't post that often through this entire 5 year process, but I learned so much and relied upon advice from this website the entire time. Thanks everyone.

After over a year of filing the I-751 my husband received the letter of approval. We were not asked to interview as we provided as much information as possible. No immigration officers at our house. Filed 11/4/2016. Approved lawful resident 4/23/2018. Best of luck to everyone!

APPROVED!!!

 

We have quite a story based on a getting an incorrect provisional green card that we filed a year earlier because we only received a 1 year not a 2 year green card.

 

NOA 11/18/16  Approved 4/24/18

 

Could someone include this in the next update.

 

Now for Citizenship in November!
