Oh, it's all so weird. I just called USCIS (bored at work) and the person on the phone seem to not really know. I mean, she gave me the information for the case that I already know. I asked how it is possible that the put me in line for the Oath, when my I751 is not approved yet and she tells me "The naturalization cannot be approved without the 1751 approved", to which I ask why they put me in line then and she says that it doesn't matter, that I need to have the i751 approved, and I inquire again... then why the last status on my I751 is that my name was updated, if that's something I did for my citizenship... and she basically ended up saying that at this time there is no one that could answer that question, that I should call tomorrow at 8am. 

 

I'd rather have a more consistent time (even if approximate) frame than being totally in this limbo.

After over a year of filing the I-751 my husband received the letter of approval. We were not asked to interview as we provided as much information as possible. No immigration officers at our house. F

My field office is telling me that they have my ROC file but that they're having IT issues (since March 12...yeah, right!) and that therefore they can't approve my I-751 even if I already had BOTH interviews and was recommended for approval! LOL

 

Tier 2 officer, on the other hand, told me my case is still at CSC. Go figure!

F-1 Visa: Academic years 2007/2010.

K-1 Visa: I-129F sent Aug 2013; Approved Jan 2014.

Green Card: AOS sent Feb 2014; Approved Jan 2015.

Removal of Conditions: I-751 sent Nov 2016; Approved Apr 2018.

US Citizenship: Application sent Nov 2017; Fingerprints Nov 2017; Civics/English exam March 2018; Oath May 2018.

Hey guys,

Nov 2016 filer here. Filed ROC on 11/11/16; file N-400 12/31/17.

 

Some progress has been made on my case:

I just received a letter from the USCIS. Asking for more evidence, and an interview scheduled for us in May.

On the letter it says "The i-751 in your file must be adjudicated prior to Naturalization. Therefore, you and your spouse must appear for an interview to determine eligibility to remove conditions."

 

They are even asking for "sworn affidavits from others with personal knowledge of the validity of the marriage" - Is anyone experienced with or have done this before? Can you please shed me some light on how to proceed and how to get it done correctly?

Strange.   Did you have any affidavits in the original application to begin with?   Also, was there any substantial piece of evidence missing from your application like joint bank statements, lease or something that is normally included in others' applications?

UPDATE: New Card is Being Produced

 

Status updated on 4/16.

 

Did anybody elses change? With all the changes happening lately I'm too scared to celebrate yet. Does anybody have any experience that when the status changes to this they received their card within a few days? (P.s. I did not file for N400 yet.)

That's what I thought.

I did not have any affidavits in the original application.

However, I did have all the bank statements, mortgage payments, house title, tax returns, etc. All the financial pieces were included.

 

How should I complete the affidavits?

Congratulations!!!

 

My status changed on 4/11 indicating new card is being produced. On 4/12, my status changed again, saying my case was approved. Yesterday, I received my notice in the mail that my case was approved, and would receive my new card shortly (I believe it said by Mary 12th). I also did not file for N400 yet.

 

You should receive your approval letter in the next few days.

December 2010: Met through Facebook and began chatting

October 1, 2013: Married

USCIS

December 23rd, 2013: I-130 Package received at the Phoenix Lockbox

June 19th, 2014: Confirmation received - case shipped to NVC

NVC

July 1st, 2014: Case received at NVC

October 6th, 2014: Case Complete

November 25th, 2014: Interview at the Montreal Consulate - APPROVED!!!!

December 1st, 2014: Visa in hand

Still patiently waiting. I've misplaced my biometrics letter a long time ago so I haven't checked on my status. Hopefully everything is fine though. This whole time waiting, I've had another baby, halfway done with nursing school, it's a crazy long wait!

They only suggest things. 

 

Go to the interview, and you can tell the interviewer that after years of marriage, affidavits are embarrassing to ask for you, period. Assuming you’re having a hard time getting them. I got some for AOS, but its def what ill be saying this time around. After almost 4 years of marriage I will not be asking anyone for affidavits, I rather face a judge than explain to my relatives and friends whats going in families private life anymore. 

 

You will not be denied for not having them and your wife being there.

K-1 Visa: I-129F sent Aug 2013; Approved Jan 2014.

Green Card: AOS sent Feb 2014; Approved Jan 2015.

Removal of Conditions: I-751 sent Nov 2016; Approved Apr 2018.

US Citizenship: Application sent Nov 2017; Fingerprints Nov 2017; Civics/English exam March 2018; Oath May 2018.

Hey all,

 

Husband applied for removal in November 16, got an extension a couple months later because of back log from department. I’m pretty sure the extension has expired. Any suggestions on what to do? From what I can tell not many have been approved. Just trying to get an idea of how I can help him.
