Good to know -  as far as my research shows, there are a bunch of candidates within a certain subcode or group - let's call it 36, 35, or 38 in your case or 40 in my case.  A bit like social security number where the 4th and 5th digit are a group number.   What I'd like to know is how many groups are there in between 35 and 40 - mine is 40something.  38 is certainly one - so there must be bunch of applicants with that group along with you.

There are various sites that you can find that will decipher the receipt numbers, but basically:

Example: WAC 17 040 50011

WAC = CSC

17 = Fiscal year they received the case  - "17" Fiscal year runs Oct 1st 2016 - September 30th 2017.

040 = This is the 40th "computer working day" from Oct 1st. The day they entered it into system.

50011 - Last 5 are the case number - in the example it represents the 11th Case entered that day.

That's basically it. Hope it helps you decipher your receipt number.

Although we have my 10 year green card (May 2016 filer - approved November 2016 no interview - things were faster then!!!) - my mother-in-law is a Nov 2016 filer so I keep an eye on this topic.

Regards,

Chris.

Hi everyone, are there lots of people who applied for N400 in November who are still waiting for interview schedule? my lawyer says everyone ( who applied in November in my area) already got their interview and my application is not even sent to the local office yet.

I understand but I worry since the first timeline in my account showed that I would be done by September and now it shows December . I don't know if this happened to anyone else. At the same time  I know my local office had a push on N400 applications ( they told me when I went for the stamp) so everyone else already got their interviews  but my N400 isn't even sent to the field office yet. Just wondering why it is like that.

I got an e-mail response from CSC this morning that my file is at pre-adjudicative unit at CSC office. This is my 17 months and still waiting. My NOA1 is Nov 9, 2016.

This is exact response from CSC after I had made a service request to find out the exact location of my I-751 file. Has anyone got this status before or is anyone aware of this?

"Thank you for your inquiry. Currently, your file is in our pre-adjudicative unit. We are adjudicating I-751 Petitions that were filed 17.5 to 19 months from the date of filing. USCIS electronic records indicate that you filed your petition on 11/09/2016. Please visit our website at www.uscis.govand click on CHECK PROCESSING TIMES for up-to-date processing time information at the California Service Center"

7 to 12 months.

So they have till November to get to you.

The first number is the time it takes to complete 50% of cases (the median). The second number is the time it takes to complete 93% of cases.

God help the remaining 7%.
