Hi,

Is your N-400 receipt number an IOE or NBC number? Some said IOE number has a faster process.

My receipt number is IOE

Good questions, I'm wondering too..

If you go back a few pages you can see when I wrote about my experience.

But short story: They did not notified, that is why they are called home inspections, they need to verify that was is told in the application is true.

They arrived in the morning, I will call it causality or destiny, but that day I was at home, because my baby was sick and I stayed home with her that day, my husband was at work when they arrived, I didn't let them in, I told them to wait a few minutes so I can change clothes, and I called my husband, he was home in less than 5 minutes. They didn't get inside my home, because we told that I our baby had the flu (that was true). So my husband stayed outside with them and they have a simple conversation, only  made a 2-3 questions, just to confirm that what was written in the application form was true. Before they left, they told him that they will suggest to approve our case without interview.

If possible could you please elaborate about how this visit came about? Did they notify you about it or did they just showed up by surprise? Were both yourself and your spouse present at home when they came? Thanks

I just wanted to share my case with you guys here. I just finished my journey today. I got a N-400 interview while my ROC pending today, and I got approved. My husband and I got interview for ROC first but it was super easy, it was just like chatting. He also said my case was the first case ever happened in Phoenix location. He said he was about to deny my case when he saw my ROC pending, but he asked his supervisor and she said he can approve them both at the same time. I was lucky. My N-400 was super smooth too. I answered 6 correct questions and then he asked me to read What is the Columbus day?. Then, asked me to write The Columbus day is in October. We went over my N-400 Yes/No questions. Finally, I got approved. Now I am waiting for my oath ceremony. Thank you so much for all your information which helped me a lot.

Thank you so much for your sharing, it's really interesting. Didn't know they do home visiting. I think they wouldn't notify people, but what if nobody's home on the weekday?

Anyway, congratulations to you again!

Is it possible the people who got their cases "transferred to a new office" are ones whose N-400 applications are making progress, hence the ROC case being transferred to the same local office to be dealt with simultaneously?

Removal of Conditions:

2016-09-27: I-751 removal of conditions petition sent (with fee waiver request)

2016-09-30: I-751 petition delivered to California Service Center

2016-11-01: Informed in USCIS customer service call that they had no record of receiving our petition, but that it might still be languishing somewhere in fee waiver limbo

2016-11-01: Filed I-751 again, this time with payment check instead of fee waiver request (sent Priority Express)

2016-11-03: Date on I-797 Notice of Action (received 11/7)

2016-11-09: USCIS mailed out denial of our original fee waiver request, with denial letter dated 2016-11-02

2016-11-19: Biometrics appointment notice issued, for 2016-12-07 appointment

2016-11-26: Second biometrics appointment notice issue, for 2016-12-16 appointment (see this thread)

2016-12-07: Biometrics appointment. Allowed to complete biometrics despite mix-up on their end (again see this thread), but some people had to come back for second appointment date.

2018-05-01: Notice that our case was transferred to National Benefits Center in Lee's Summit, MO

2018-06-11: Approved after N-400 interview in Portland, OR (they seemed to be waiting for that before bothering with it)

Citizenship:

2017-12-11: N-400 Application for Naturalization submitted online while still waiting to hear back on I-751, received same day

2017-12-15: Biometrics notice

2018-01-04: Biometrics completed, on appointment date (Portland, OR)

2018-02-28: Interview scheduled for April 12 in Portland, OR

2018-03-01 (approximate): We sent in a letter requesting that the interview be rescheduled to after June 8, due to combination of work and family travel plans

2018-03-07: Notice that our April 12 interviewed had been "canceled" (pending rescheduling, but the letter didn't actually say that; officer at InfoPass later explained that interviews aren't scheduled until five or six weeks before the interview date, so they were waiting until closer to our requested rescheduling window)

2018-05-03: New interview scheduled for June 11.

2018-06-11: Citizenship interview - approved!

Not necessarily the case.  There are people who didn't file for N-400 with the same message.  One even got an approval after that status without having had their ROC biometrics done.

I was wondering about the biometrics.....I senT the I-751 for my daughter last December and I haven't got any instructions for biometrics and she has the same message like mine on her case " transferred to a local office".

I just hope we hear good news soon.

I saw somewhere else on this forum where someone had mentioned that CSC filers from mid December last year to date no one had received any NOA for biometrics unlike the VSC.  Somebody also got an email from USCIS stating that they were updating their systems so not everyone would have their biometrics taken again despite the fees not being waived.
