Secondly, Use the number on your biometric notice to track your case. The tracking number on the top right of your biometric notice.

Thanks Name O Boy!!

I went back to form I-797C and saw there are actually two WAC numbers on there - I'd been trying with the 'wrong' one, which appears at the top of form I-797 - What a rookie mistake

So now I have finally seen with my own eyes the webpage telling me that they received my case and how they waived the fees associated haha!

This notice states that they 'mailed me a notice describing how we will progress your case' - Does this refer to form I-797? Or some other form??

We moved house and I am worried that there is some form I never received and didn't know to look out for

I've got a call back set up in 109 minutes time to talk to a Tier 2 operative. I filled out forms to notify a change of address, and would really like confirmation that they have the correct address on file.

Wow, paperwork gets me down sometimes. Do I sound worried much? ha!

TL:DR

The online notice states that they 'mailed me a notice describing how we will progress your case'

Does this refer to form I-797? Or some other form??

We moved house and I am worried that there is some form I never received and didn't know to look out for

It refers to the NOA-2 (biometrics Letter). The message you get from tracking is a standard message for everyone who files for I-751. It only changes when they approve your case and sends you a GC.

If you moved to a different place with a change of address you need to file two address change forms. One is AR-11 filed online by the immigrant spouse and could be done over the phone talking to USCIS customer service associate. The second form is I-865 (Sponsors Change of address form) should be sent by the sponsor if he/she moves to a different place. Below is the link to I-865. Most people forget to send I-865 and it has to be sent within one month of the address change. Many applicants have sent the form late without any issue.

Bring your expire GC, extension letter and passport.  They will stamp the I55-1 on your passport which is the proof of your residency in the country. It would be good to bring any form of picture I.D although not required.

Secondly, Use the number on your biometric notice to track your case. The tracking number on the top right of your biometric notice. Keep in mind the USCIS tracking system is not going to tell you anything except "we received your case on a specific date etc" Since you are CSC applicant you have to wait for few more months before you hear anything from USCIS. Let's hope CSC pick up some speed.

where do I go to make an appointment?  My wife's green card expires soon, and I need to take action.

Here is the link to the infopass appointment: https://my.uscis.gov/appointment

If you don't find a slot try to check at midnight or early morning.

Thank you for the response.  Just to make sure, of my situation; my wife has already done the biometrics last december or so.  Her GC expires in Jan.  The action that I need to take is have an extension to the extension (797).  I can make an appointment, and they can then extend the extension?  Is that correct?  Bring a passport, 797, id, and anything else that they might need, correct?

It is not required to get the I55-1 stamp but people sometimes do face problems due to the expiration of their GC. Your case is pending and you are a permanent resident, the I55-1 stamp is just an evidence of your residency. You need to bring your passport, GC, NOA 1 and biometrics appointment. In some cases, the local field office may give you 1 year or 6 months I55-1 stamp which extends your residency until the final decision is made on your pending I-751. The I55-1 is a proof of U.S residency.

I don't really understand how these dates work. VSC December 2016 filers are being approved, so why do they only put November 14th if they're ahead in some cases?

USCIS CSC received our paperwork on the 17 of November, and we got the extension letter. Last week we encountered some confusion when re-entering the US. The officer at the border was not going to allow my wife back in because the date on the extension letter was past, but the date on my wife's GC was Feb. 13. The officer said that it was strange the letter had a different expiration date than her GC. Eventually we got through after talking to several other officers, but a bit of a hassle. Just wanted to share the experience, and if you plan on leaving the US it is better to get the infopass appt. and get your visa stamped, it will save you some time when you return.

The date on the letter is always different from the date of card.  I am surprised the officer didn't know this as I am sure they deal with  a lot of them on a daily basis.

I used the letter twice now, one by myself and the second with my husband, with not problems at all, but I always have carrier information guide with me, it state that the one year extension is from the GC date.

they don't always stamp the passport if you still have time from the one year extension....
