Can someone please add my update to the list?

 

I just got my biometrics letter today. The letter is dated 12/25/2016. I had also called the USCIS on Friday 12/30/16 to ask them to re-send my letter since I hadn't received it at the time. (Now I will prob. get another copy of it in the mail in a few days....)

 

My biometric appointment is scheduled for 1/11/17. I guess appointment availability here in NYC is running slower than the rest of our peer group. Albeit I am grateful to receive my appointment and be done with it before the looooong waiting begins...

After over a year of filing the I-751 my husband received the letter of approval. We were not asked to interview as we provided as much information as possible. No immigration officers at our house. F

Please update us. As you know, we called on December 30 to ask about our case and were told to put a service request since there was nothing going on with our case. I don't know where a tier 2 looked at, but turned out, that we got the biometrics letter yesterday, dated December 23, for January 10.

How are you guys keeping your list so neat/organized? I've been updating the list in the December 2016 I-751 filers thread, but ever since VJ updated, it has been all messed up and I don't know how to fix it :crying:

With a touch of OCD... ;)

 

I would come and help you fix it, but I've already been reprimanded once by the VJ gods for "participating" in the December thread, and as a result, received coal in my stocking today. :D 

 

In all seriousness, try to edit it with font, size, color, but also using those dots to "organize" each line.

 

P.S. I absolutely despise the new layout (although email notifications have greatly improved),

You can add me to list:

California centre : 
NOA I-797 11/14/2016, Biometrics 12/7/2016.
So after biometrics appt i  lost my ASC paper and called USCIS to get my # so i could track my case..they gave me receipt number and  and now all is see is  "Fees Were Waived".  How does that apply to my ASC reciept # ??

Also when i enter my NOA i-797 receipt number  it says " Validation Error(s)  , You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:"

 

IS anyone else experiencing this issue and what to do?

Please let us know when you physically filed; you forgot to mention it.

 

As for your other questions, the "fee waived" message is an error quite a few people are experiencing (you can do a search for it and see the many threads). Please know it won't affect your case, so nothing to worry about.

 

The # USCIS gave you is the one and only to check for updates. The one on your NOA1 doesn't work, and it's meant to be that way.

Update : So today i went to my local USCIS  in Charleston, SC to get an update on my case, since tracking online it says "Fees were waived". Officer sees that i have taken bio metrics but no background check has come back yet . Officer informed me that cases filed in NOV 2016 can take 9-12 months. Although  i have an extension for a year. If i don't receive my new green card in mail within one year, i have to go to local USCIS and get a stamp in my passport for another 1 year extension. Here is the catch - passport has to be valid and can not be expired. Which means i have to fly to NY to my embassy and get a new passport.

I'll also eventually make an appointment directly with USCIS, but not until we're outside of our normal processing time (currently 6 months, as per their webpage). Following the May 2016 thread, one learns that although many from CSC have gotten approval, there are still quite a few lingering, with the majority in the June thread that have yet to receive it (also outside of normal processing time, according to the website).

 

Based on stats from VJs own timelines, right after I filed (one of the first in November), it said that I should expect a decision (unless we get a RFEs) by June 7, which would be almost 8 months; so that's exactly when I am hoping to get it, give or take 30 days.

 

I'll be traveling out of the country soon, but then I left a substantial buffer in between other travel commitments so that we can deal with anything USCIS throws at us, be it a RFE, interview, or hopefully, an approval!

 

Keeping my fingers crossed for all of us!

I was in Canada on December and I didnt have any problem. I was worried because I am changing my name with the new GC so My extension letter has my new name (only my husband lastname) I had my married certificate and some wedding pics and my husband with me lol
