I-751 November 2016 Filers

Hey guys, just received on the mail my biometrics appt! (Actually I haven't checked my mail box since last Tuesday due to the Holidays, so not sure when I received..)

Anyways, my biometrics is next week! 12/08/2016 at 12pm! Woohoo!

I sent my I-751 last week and I don't know how to add myself to the list.

If anyone can help me that would be great!

We need the exact date you filed.

Hey guys, just filed my I-751 on Saturday November 26th (My three month window starts on November 27th so I assume since the 26th and 27th fall on a weekend, USCIS will get my papers on Monday November 28th so my filing date (Monday 28th) will fall within my three month window).

My application was delivered on Monday and signed for by a USCIS person, even though I waived the signature requirement on my express package.

I was in NYC when I had to file my papers and I forgot my checks at our home in Florida so I had to get a Postal Money Order from the post office.. Now I'm calling the money order verification line every day to see if they cashed the money order yet.. I hate how they don't have an electronic receipt notification like they have for other petitions..

Oh well, I guess the waiting game starts now.

Good luck trying to trace the USPS money order! LOL The good news is, you don't have to worry. I used the same method, and it was cashed the same day my petition got delivered at CSC. Meanwhile the USPS system still doesn't say anything about it, so yes, it's useless to say the least.

Hopefully I will get a letter from the USCIS soon..

Their online system doesn't say anything about it ever, unless you pay a $6 tracing fee or something.. But, there's a telephone system that tells you whether your money order is valid or not so that you can verify that if someone pays you with a money order, they are giving you an original money order and not a fake.. And the theory goes like if that system says your money order matches their records then the money order is valid and not cashed. If the money order is invalid or cashed, then it should say does not match our records.

So that system currently tells me that the money order I mailed to USCIS matches the USPS records so that usually means that it's a valid (not cashed) money order.. If I keep on getting that same message from USPS I will know their system sucks I will update here in any case if it helps other people sending in money orders

I filed at the California service center.

I sent my package 11/21/16 and it was received on 11/22/16.

My check was cashed 11/25/16.

I received my NOA 11/28/16. ( the paper says it was received 11/22/16)

Yup, believe me, I have read aaaaaall about it!

At the end the good thing about the money order is that there's no wait for it to clear your account, as you've already paid for it. It was extremely fast for me. In my case, the wait was because it arrived in CA on a Saturday, and so it had to wait until Monday to be picked up. Once it was, the very same day the NOA1 was issued (say from 11am pick-up time to 7pm NOA1 issuance).

I filed at the California service center.

My check was cashed 11/25/16.

I received my NOA 11/28/16. ( the paper says it was received 11/22/16)
