Anybody knows the process of getting one police clearance in Dubai? I used to work there in 2006. I want to get it done before my interview in Manila embassy to avoid 221g form. .

Unlikely you'll need it, unless you were born there, or spent a large chunk of your life there. There is a recommended waiver (note, its recommended, not automatic).

If you do need to obtain it, PM me, I have done this (from outside the UAE). Despite what the USCIS think, it IS possible.

Here is the official rules....

According to country-specific information on police records found at the State Department’s web site at http://travel.state.....html?cid=3698, police certificates are considered to be unavailable to applicants who no longer reside in United Arab Emirates and hence applicants are not expected to produce them.

Available, only if applicant is physically present in the UAE.

Police certificates may be obtained by any person, regardless of nationality, by personally appearing at the Central Police Headquarters located in the emirate of residence or former residence. When appearing to request a police certificate, the applicant should provide recent photographs, a letter from the requesting authority, the date of residence in the emirate, and their passport.

Not available by mail. Post recommends that consular officers waive the general requirement to obtain police certificates unless the applicant lives in the UAE.

Yes, note that is a recommendation, it isn't automatic.

In my case I obtained the police clearance, as I had another friend who was required to provide it. In his case he was born in the UAE (but not a UAE citizen) and spent most of his life there (though was no longer living there). So assuming in OP's case the beneficiary wasn't born there, or hasn't spent large chunk of their life there, they should be okay. Since they said they left 10 years ago, I think they'd almost certainly get the waiver.

Thank you so much for the reply . I don't need to worry then about it . Now, it's the time to do the HK police clearance .
