Dear friends, I have question regarding I-94.

I have received my green card. Do I need to keep the I-94 attached in my passport?

Do we have to surrender the I-94 to immigration officer when we leave the USA to travel to other country?

When I went to DMV office, beside GC the officer also wrote down the expiry date of I-94 .Why???

Thanks for any response.

hi and congratulations...

there was a thread about this question...

from what i read you can take it out and put it in a scrapbook or anywhere you like..you have your greencard now that will get you back into the country..i dont think its necessary for it to be in your passport anymore....i took mine out and just placed in my passport wallet just in case when i do return to oz they ask for it but i doubt if they would lol..

maybe someone who has travelled out of the country can tell of their experience and the I-94..

good luck

Giving it to the airline people next time you travel is probably the safest thing to do with it.

Rolling it up and smoking it is probably the least safe.

Claudeth still has her I-94 too, she got her GC without an interview. She has since had to renew her passport so there is nothing in it now, no visa, no CFO and no I-94. I guess we will find out what the USCIS wants when we remove conditions.

Since I didn't have an interview I'll just leave my I-94 stapled to my passport, and when I renew it it will prolly go with my passport, to the federal police, where it will be destroyed along with the passport.

Dont send it to the Polícia Federal, I doubt they will destroy it. They will probably send it back... just keep it with you at home. Maybe one day, they will ask for it, if not then you keep it as a souvenier.

i had an interview and they never took my i-94.

Odd. Have you passed FBI namecheck?

It happens. The IO didn't take mine either. But that's because I forgot to bring it with me :D

I still have my I-94, I intend to keep it. It was never stapled to my passport, so it's pretty worn out now.

Filed AOS from F-1
Green Card approved on 01/04/07
Conditions removed 01/29/09

Citizenship Oath 08/23/12
