I'm sorry you had to sit around so long waiting for information. :( If I lived over there I would have come sit with you.

Anyway, glad the surgery went well and that your hubby's recovery was fast and smooth. (F):)

well, it just gets even better

i found out yesterday that my aunt had called my mom on June 4th and said that Grandma was asking for my mom and dad and wanted them to come right aways.... So my parents packed up and left for Manitoba right aways... My mom said she told both my sis-in-law and one of my brothers to email me to let me know what was going on...

My parents tried using one of those computer things where you have to insert money to check their email but it wasn't working properly.. they did get to check their email and did try to send off some emails but they weren't sure if it worked... they did wonder why I hadn't contacted them because they thought my sis-in-law had emailed me but my mom figured maybe we were away or something...

My mom said she would have called but they forgot my phone number at home and they also didn't want to bother my aunts to use their cell phones (which I doubt they would have minded) They did get a hold of my sis-in-law shortly after my grandma had died and told her to tell us... I am not sure why my sis-in-law waited a few days to get a hold of me... didn't she think that I would want to go to the funeral??

I found this all out when my dad called me yesterday, he wanted to find out why I hadn't contacted them and I told him that I had only found out the day of the funeral and my parents were kind of shocked to hear that... and they felt bad... I told them I wasn't mad at them, I know they tried and I know my mom was upset about her mom dying and probably wasn't thinking clearly....

when my dad told me that they had been there for about a week and half before she died I broke into tears when I realized that I could have been there to say good bye to my grandma :crying: ...

I am really upset with my sis-in-law right now... yeah, maybe I could have forgiven her for not letting me know sooner when I thought she only had a couple of days to get a hold of me but knowing that she had about 2 weeks, really makes me mad :blink::wacko:

I am thinking of writing her an email, not a mad email but just one letting her know how what she did made me feel....

i have been wanting to send an email to my sis-in-law to let her know how I felt about the whole thing but I hadn't yet....

well, my sis-in-law emailed me today and this was a portion of the email...

How about you? How are you doing? I'm sorry I didn't keep you as updated as I should have about your grandma, it's hard when I don't have email at home. I'm hoping that Dale and I will get internet at home again this fall. It's a pain to always have to do it at work or my grandmas. Anyways I'd like to know how you are doing.

this was my hopefully polite and calm response...

I was a little upset when I found out about my grandma's death on the day of her funeral... and then I found out later from my dad that they had been there for about 2 weeks before saying goodbye to her... I got even more upset because I realized I missed the chance to say good bye to her... My parents said they did try to email me but the computer they were using wasn't working properly so they weren't sure if I got the email which I never did.... I am still a little upset over the whole thing because my grandma was very special to me and I wished I had gotten the chance to say goodbye to her....

ok, I just found out that my sis-in-law was in the room when I was talking to my mom on the phone about all this shortly after it happened.... I don't remember what I said or what my mom said.. I was still really upset...

I am not sure why my mom didn't say anything about my sis-in-law being there....

i didn't feel like starting a whole new thread and I did mention hubby's mom already in this thread....

we need some prayers or whatever you have for my hubby's mom.... she has been in an out of the hospital these past few months... she is in the hospital right now because they think she had a minor heart attack on Friday.. the doctors told the family awhile back that she needs heart surgery but the family voted against it because they knew someone that had this surgery and they died and they also didn't think she was strong enough for the surgery....

so she has been in the hospital since Friday and we got a call this morning from hubby's sister saying that they had to put their mom on a ventilator last night because she was having problems breathing... his sister thinks it is because they had been giving her morphine to stop her crying.... she always cries when her husband is not there.. the nurses say they did it because they thought she was in pain.... hubby's sister says the morphine causes her blood pressure to get really low...

so if you guys could keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers that would be greatly appreciated.... (F)

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

it doesn't look good for his mom... :( they found out this morning that his mom had a brain bleed at the back of her head.. they can't do anything about it because it is already to bad and her blood pressure is too low.. they are needing to medicate her to keep her blood pressure up...

she probably isn't going to make it.... they are waiting until her sister and niece come back from Mexico tonight and they are probably going to have to take her off life support or something.... not exactly sure what is going to happen...

the family is pretty upset about it and hubby's dad is totally lost and he blames himself...
