I am going out of my mind with worry and I need to talk to someone about it....

Back in January my hubby found a lump on his throat... We kind of ignored it at first but towards the end of February he went to the doctors to check it out...

they sent him to get an X-ray and an Ultrasound and when the results came back they sent him for an MRI, oops, now that I think about it I think it was a Cat Scan not a MRI.... When those results came back they said they couldn't find what they were looking for and are in the middle of scheduling him for a Pulmonary Angiogram...

Hubby keeps insisting that it is nothing and that the doctors are just trying to get their money's worth.... but I still worry that something is wrong....

Hubby thinks the lump is just a thyroid problem or something but if that is the case whey are they doing all these tests on his lungs??

Also hubby's mom suffered a stroke back in Febraury and has been in the hospital since then... the stroke was in a part of the brain that effects speech and at first you couldn't understand anything she said, it was all gibberish, she was all there mentally though... but after a week or two you could kind of understand what she was saying... and it looked like she was getting better....

But I guess a few weeks ago she had another stroke while in the hospital, now she can't talk at all and she is on a feeding tube because she can't swallow ....

I feel like we have been constantly dumped on these last few months, not sure how much more I can take

We need prayers, good thoughts etc... whatever you have....

It'll be okay, no matter what. That throat thing probably is a thyroid problem, I know someone who went through all kinds of tests for a lump in her throat and it was thyroid. She's just fine now. The medication she has to take makes her gain weight, but other than that she's fine. I'd say don't stress too much about it right now...assume the best and stay positive about it if you can. Don't freak out until you find out there is a serious problem...which there totally may not be anyway. So when you find out everything's okay you'll kick yourself for all the worrying you did. We've all been through crazy stuff. Just stay strong and find support where you can. I will be thinking about you guys and hoping the best for sure.

I am not at the freak out stage yet.... just worried about the outcome....

the part that worries me is that on the orders for the Pulmonary Angiogram it says something like "antonmous malformation" (not sure about the first word but the second was definitely malformation)

My mom had a (spot-growth) it was a (gourder) pretty sure i didnt spell this one correct, (for the spelling patrol catches it) they removed it years ago, no problems since, best wishes

A Goitre is a swelling in the throat. Think that's what Brndokiegurl was thinking of.

The only reason I can think of for them checking over his lungs is perhaps the lymphatic system. The next lymph node after the throat/neck is the chest area. By checking out his lymphatic system they are just working through a process of elimination to find out what it is. I'd say rather than getting their money's worth they are actually just being very thorough. I'd prefer that to them being lax.

It is more than likely something trivial and, even if it isn't (fingers crossed it is though), at least he has found it early and is getting it investigated. I'll keep my fingers crossed and be thinking of you both.
