Hello! We are currently on the NVC stage. I'm preparing all the necessary documents for NVC. Last month I was able to obtain my NBI clearance. I asked the employee who works there if I can get two clearances: one with my Maiden Name and another with my Married Name. He said I don't need my Married Name since my Husband's Surname and my Civil Status (which is Married) is already reflected on my Maiden Name NBI clearance. I'm confused if I should get another one that has my Married Name on it. The employee said that that is usually the case for visa applicants which I find hard to believe since Visa Journey and travel.state.gov say otherwise.

I got mine on my married name and maiden name since I insisted lol just to be safe for I wont be back in PH until I dont know when. But the new NBI with married name actually reflects your maiden name as well so I just spent more money for being stubborn. I submitted the NBI with married status for immigrant purposes and just kept the other one.

Hope that helps.

He's right. I got mine last week of September and everything went well. It showed that I'm married and my husband's surname's there too.

Did you apply for CR-1 visa? You mean you only showed one NBI clearance at the USEM that has your maiden name only plus your husband's surname? Sorry just really anxious. Dont want to mess things up.

Yes we applied for CR1 and yes I only showed the NBI clearance at the USEM that has my maiden name stating that I am married and with my husband's surname at the designated box. Don't worry, everything should be fine. Also, bring with you during your interview your husband's 1040s and your CENOMAR coz they might ask for it.
