My Fiance did her interview on October 5th. The interview went well and they told her 2-3 weeks for the decision. They also kept all of her proof of our relationship, money, and passport. They needed an extra 2x2 photo because the one she took was somehow blurry. They received everything that following Monday and still haven't reviewed the case yet. Whenever I track the visa that status always reads "Ready" and they just update the date to whenever they do something. Last date as of now is 10/27/16 which is when I contacted them to see what is taking so long. They said the photo and case is still pending for review. Why is this taking so long? Anyone else has had a similar experience or could tell me how it went for them after the interview process in Islamabad, Pakistan?

Thank you.

Hi, I am hoping you received your visa by now? How long did it take to finally turn to issued, and how long for you to receive your passport/visa back?

I am also in the same predicament. I had my interview in November 2nd, my case was approved, was given an approval form and was told by the CO to leave my passport with them and wait two weeks for my visa to be issued. It's now 1month since my interview and there is no update whatsoever. The CEAC website reads AP. I have sent them several emails but all they do is send me generated emails saying that the case is undergoing AP and that the process often takes 90 days to be completed and in some cases it can take significantly longer. This surely is frustrating. But I hope your fiance was able to get her visa.

YES! My fiance was able to get her Visa. Her Status was Ready THE WHOLE TIME it was being processed. Her Interview was Oct 5th. On Nov 18th the Status went into AP (I wanted to cry) but thank God it went to ISSUED within 6-7 hours of staying in AP. We thought she was going to get the visa in the mail but she actually had to go pick up her passport. She went and picked it up on Nov 25th and now I'm going to get her in Feb to bring her back!

Honestly the 1 month wait seems to be quite common although I cant speak for all embassies/visas but it seems to be the trend. They tell you "2-3 weeks and we will let you know." but in reality be prepared to wait 2-3 times that amount. If they kept everything from you, you have a 95% chance that you will definitely get your visa. From doing so much personal research on contacting embassies, this is pretty much confirmed as far as I'm concerned looking at all the trends. Good luck and hang in there, trust me going through it personally I know how you feel. I honestly can't live without my fiance, I miss her too damn much but thank god everything turned out great!
